15? No.
20? Yes.

We stand a real chance at getting a nice player at 15. As much as this fanbase hates Meyers, there's no reason to pay to get rid of him just yet...
Honestly, I think 22/27 together are worth more than 15 by itself. Divesting ourselves of Leonard would just be a bonus.

Quick says the blazers want to keep 15 but trade 20 and 26 to shed salary or get future picks. Says mondays workout was underwhelming.

Don't believe the salary dump part.

My guess is Olshey is shopping around for a deal that isn't a pure salary dump, but is something he can spin as a move that improves the team. Think Leonard+20 for Kyle o Quinn or something of the sort.

Fans will be underwhelmed because it is really a salary dump in disguise.

It makes me giggle when people try to do outlandish trade scenarios for players to come to Portland.

I'm watching this paint dry, and I feel like I'm using my time wisely.

That would be extremely stupid. Prepare for disappointment!!!

When you showed up for
#15, #20, #26, Crabbe and Turner for Butler and Porzingis
but came away with
TJ Leaf at #15 and #20 and #26 traded to dump Crabbe and Leonard

Yeah, me may have to do a trade like that, or perhaps 15 and Leonard for O'quinn and 22?

If Olshey uses this deep draft just to dump contracts HE SIGNED, he might as well include his resignation papers in the deal.

Won't be a pure salary dump (capspace), but sly salary dumps will let him flex his salesman muscles.

I mean, that is what he is good at. He tried convincing us last year that these contracts he signed were actually good value.

They were.

How is it ok with ANYONE that we may sacrifice assets because Olshey overpaid everyone?

To be fair, he was also the one that acquired these assets.

He definitely misjudged the contracts he signed last year, even though everyone else thought he was crazy.

I remember you and I got a little crapped on last year in being absolutely pissed about the Turner deal.

The Turner deal definitely sent me over the deep end. People were trying to convince us that Turner was the perfect fit for the team and exactly what we needed.

Well it doesn't look any better today....

I was much more "fine with" the Turner deal then the Crabbe "match" personally.

It wasn't surprising to me that we had to way overpay for a free agent and I personally don't think his deal is super bad in the future when he continues to get even more comfortable with us or is dealt.

I wouldn't have matched the Crabbe deal though. And I said that at the time. But I am not the GM.

I seem to remember there was a poll on to match or not and it was pretty close to 50/50 between the posters who responded. So not everyone in here was against it at all.
