I'm glad the bullshit tweets you repost on here don't embed anymore.
They would if he replaced the X with twitter and deleted everything in the url from the question-mark and after.

I read a headline saying it'll be done in less than 24 hours between Miami the Suns and the Blazers.

There’s only one thing I’d hold onto if I were you, but that’s really up to you and yours
Already holding my breath because of Torey. Might be left holding something else if this trade doesn't happen.

Just because it bears literally endless repeating, FUCK MIAMI and FUCK THEIR FANS. Literally, they make Lakers fans seem like philanthropic, high-IQ, Nobel Peace Prize winners who spent 4+ years in finishing school. Holy fuck I hate them. Please for the love of all that is holy, God, do NOT let Lillard be traded to Miami.

I'm legit willing to take a worse offer from any other team at this point.

Cue some poster to say "blah blah glad you aren't in charge, who cares if you reward bad behavior and set a precedent that destroys the league, you got a tad more value now.".

No.

I just need to know if we got that third pick.

We were lucky enough to enjoy the show that is Damian lillard for so long. It’s going to be so sad he doesn’t stay here forever. The reality is we couldn’t trade 3 for someone on dames timeline that would’ve made a real difference (if there was a chance and you know about it why don’t you speak up). You don’t pass on Scoot. Dame is 33. If the rumored return which includes ayton is what we get back than that is good for the organization. Some guys can’t get out of the mental headlock of dame leaving.
scoot
Ant
Shaedon
Ayton
is a hell of a way to start a rebuild.

trading #3 for someone like OG would’ve been malpractice. Some people get it and some don’t. It is what it is.

I'm fine with Dame leaving, what I'm absolutely NOT OK with, is the WAY that Dame left. He and Goodwin will have established hands down the most dangerous, and toxic precedent in League history for "undesirable destinations" like Portland. I really, really pray we don't gift Riley/Goodwin/Dame for their egregious awful, and borderline illegal (in terms of the CBA) activities. I cannot possibly express how much I dislike it, Miami, their FO, and especially their god awful fans who deserve NOTHING!

Yep, this is my issue too. I'm fine with him leaving, but he totally showed his true colors and is no different then all of the players he talked shit about.

He's actually among the worst for me at this point, by a large margin. I have Dame VERY low on my NBA list of players with character. His behavior this summer is far, FAR worse than anything I've seen outside of outright criminal activities such as beating one's wife etc.

I agree completely. I am simply offended that the Toronto and Philly GM's can play hard ball and expect a shit ton and over value their assets but Portland/Cronin can not.

This is the passage that fired me up;

"I'm just going off a Shams report. And piecing together what Eric heard regarding his utter reluctance to do anything with #3 two weeks before the draft plus talking to Dame about keeping the pick two days before the draft, which I don't think they do unless they fully plan on keeping it."

The "his" is Cronins.

My take is that Cronins "utter reluctance to do anything with #3..." as BonesJones put it is simply Joe playing hard ball Just like the Toronto and Philly GM's are doing and I would add Riley as well. That is the way the game is played. I take Scoot, Ant, Sharpe and Ayton all day everyday.

Exactly

Dame's loyalty was broken and it wasn't just by Cronin it was by years, a decade almost of empty promises from Olshey. When Cronin showed himself to be the same Dame realized he was out for himself and no one was in it with him. That's the truth. I don't think he hates Joe for it but I think it made him feel like he'd been an "idiot" for all these years and Dame doesn't want to see himself that way. So he took power over those that he saw as trying to victimize him so he wouldn't be a victim. You can hate Dame for that but I think it was the natural progression of this situation. You know this team's management has been absolute shit. You know that Cronin three straight times (both of his drafts and his second trade deadline) said he'd push all of his chips in and he just didn't figure out a way to do it that made sense to him.

What else would you have Dame do? Do you want him to play nice after he had an epiphany that this game was cut throat? Nah, I don't blame Dame, I don't blame Joe, I do blame fucking Olshey. If you can't see what Dame has been through for our team and get where he's coming from than honestly you're just an average person with very very very little empathy.

Very exciting. It’s like Christmas but without the presents
Yikes, that is some bleak shit. I don't blame you though we've never seen anyone like Dame, the guy we did see no longer exists and this might have set a precedent for no one ever being like him again.

but we hope we get a good return and that these young players we have develop and gel and never have to have their metal tested the way Dame's was time after time after time after time ad nauseam until it broke.

Everyone will bitch, but it’s not that bad

I think some of us are already prepared to be disappointed. I don't expect Ayton to come here, and I suspect the Blazers will give up a few more assets (like a Nassir) and get nothing of great value in return and continue to be an undersized shit show.

If only I was being serious
Well, I'm glad you're not being serious because I personally want Miami to choke horribly and for us to send Dame to literally anywhere else. Trade him for a 2nd to the Lakers at this point gawd. ANYWHERE but Miami.

It's Christmas alright! For scumbag Miami fans, Miami media, Pat Riley, shady agents, Goodwin, Desirable Market teams and for everyone else, it's a shit sandwhich of death, destruction, and total annihilation. So yeah, YAY THE BAD GUYS WON HOORAY!

I do wonder how long it'll be before the national media will start the rumblings that Shaedon and Scoot should try to leave Portland for New York, LA or Miami.

Oh probably seconds after Dame is traded if he goes to Miami, see that's what the "Just take Miami's offer" people don't get. This means we can NEVER build a team, EVER. Because the instant the ink is dry on an extension that player is gone. How people can't see that is WAY BEYOND ME. It's frying pan to the face obvious, hence why the League hasn't really clamped down on this shit show, but wrist slapped Dame with a toothless rebuke. The League WANTS this to happen. It solves their whole, good players in bad markets problem.
