Minnesota wants Batum @ 11.25M a year (1 Viewer)

I'll take my chances and just let him post it.

Perhaps it'll change your mind to know I have a call girl I send out to do that actual ball busting, she is a wife of someone on this forum perhaps you've met her before.

She is talented enough to break even a pair of iron balls.

I want Williams

Hell, let's sign D Williams, L. Williams just to fuck with Rice

He did it a lot for France last summer
I'll go out on a limb and say that when he did that for France, it wasn't against NBA caliber defenders. Seems to me that Nic is a turnover waiting to happen he drives the lane for the Blazers.

Go Blazers

Nic has been tweeting about how he's been working on his dribbling and handles all off-season. He knows it's one of his weaknesses.

Then it's disingenuous of him and his agent to blame McMillan for his lack of driving ability in the half-court set. Did it occur to anyone that Nate saw that in Nic when he was a rookie, and started him, hoping that Batum's drive to the basket game would develop in the offseasons? I wouldn't surprised if Nate is somewhat upset at Nic never taking the next step in his own development. Why start him as a rookie if you didn't see potential for more?

It's hard to speculate what Nate's reasons were. I just think it was bushleague to blame the team for supposedly using him wrong. I highly doubt that McMillan told him "stand in this corner and don't move....ever".

Seriously? People wouldn't do Iggy for Batum?

I love Nic, and I'd be tempted.

The funny thing is, if Nic wants to do more on the ball, then he really shouldn't go to Minny, where Rubio is ball-dominant. He should stay here, especially now we've got rid of Felton and Crawford. I think most of Nic's frustrations last season came from coming off the bench with Crawford, who didn't even know HOW to pass the ball. Here we're in the ideal situation to run the offense through him a bit more, because Lillard can be a shooter off the ball (unlike our past two PGs).

I think this is a case of an agent poisoning the well. Plain and simple.
I think you are probably both right, to a degree. I think Batum was frustrated by Nate, but he was visibly frustrated by Crawchuck. God, Crawchuck simply would not give him the ball, and certainly not in a position to do anything with it.

Maybe nothing that extreme, but I know Nate had a pretty short hook for guys who didn't stay their lane in his eyes.

He had an especially short hook for Batum.... but Nate isn't here anymore. Did Kaleb use Batum in much the same manner?

I don't know. That last half of the season was such a dumpster fire that I barely paid attention ... and when I did, all I saw was Crawful and Felton inflating their stats just enough to convince some sucker of a team this summer that they're still marginally useful. And this is no great reflection on Nicolas either, because he sure did look checked out after Aldridge went down.

Let's remember that Nic is a young guy and might be moved by emotion. If he felt frozen out by the coach he played under the vast majority of his time here and teammates like Felton and Crawford, he might blame "the team" even if those circumstances will be different going into next season.

Besides that, it gives his agent a chance to market him as a better player than shown in the right system. I would think less of an agent who didn't do that.

Except he's a RFA... which means there is a high chance of him returning to said team. I think it will be funny if they agree to terms with Minny but come July 11th they don't actually have the money to offer him the contract.

I really think you and others are overhyping the "poisoning the well" angle. The people on his forum are the tiny minority of "hardcore" fans. 99% of fans won't know or care about contract shenanigans. Batum isn't going to face a hostile Rose Garden.

If it's in the Oregonian, the casuals believe it :devilwink:

Bravo to Eric for trying to keep up the good fight against stupidity:

Dwight Jaynes ‏@dwightjaynes
Hahahahaha RT @EricMillegan: @dwightjaynes How do you know Batum wants to be gone? You're jumping to conclusions.

Look at Iggy, he was kicking ass when he was Batum's age. Hardly any player suddenly becomes a star after 4 years in the league. Batum is what he is. Take the sign and trade Blazers!
