Dude how many times has the Portland Diamond Project said they have a billionaire investor backing them and will release his name when things are further down the road.

Keep up

They can say whatever they want. Until they name names, it's just propaganda.

Keep up.

You really think someone like Russell Wilson and his rich ass wife Ciara would put their name on this for some kind of property scam? They would not sign on if they didn't see the whole picture, and the whole picture, IMO, would include the money backing this effort and where it's coming from. I don't think anyone but you really thinks this is, or needs to be, backed by local investors. It's pretty clear that's NOT the case.

That would be awesome to actually have some community use property development on the river outside of golf clubs and untreated sewage that gets dumped there.

I may be wrong here, but wasn't Wheeler not into bringing baseball to Portland before? If so, that makes this even MORE realistic.
He didn't show any support whatsoever until Russ and Ciara signed on. The day of, actually.

In other news

MY SPORTS PANTS ARE SO TIGHT RIGHT NOW THEY RUNNETH OVER WITH RENDERING BONE

Pretty elaborate stuff for land scam

Sorry, but that just doesn't make sense to me. Investments are made to get a return. I just don't see how a reasonable return can be generated on this. I think it requires local investors who are not necessarily prioritizing the return on investment, but also prioritizing the good for the community.

Back in April, when the PDP first was putting bids down on sites, Wheeler basically said it would be a long road, that his focus was on more immediate needs for the city, and that city dollars would be better spent elsewhere. A very different tone than his tweet today.

The only thing I don't like is that the outfield isn't facing the river or Mt Hood

So now they are going to build a hundreds-of-millions dollar park, build all around it, and then just take a hit on the park to build around T2?

I hope you were stretching before you made this proclamation.

Okay yeah, thats what I thought. It's a huge move to have him on board.

That's very beautiful. I can even picture what they're talking about...... but I guess we'll see.

I love sitting in the outfield bleachers so I'm hoping there is more seating than what is shown so far, other than that it looks fantastic.
