Agreed on the "Oregon" identification - in this age of inclusionism, it's the best route to take.I starting to lean towards using Oregon rather than Portland, but whatever it ends up, great!
Oregon does encompass a representation of the whole Statehood, which I think would be a super move.
And I think it would be better brand equity for marketing.

I don't think its mandatory we use Portland. The owners can call it what ever they want, the last thing Id want is for the Mayors office to determine what the team will be called. No we have to use Portland
The rest of the state doesn’t even contribute towards our new stadium. The city is with the infrastructure portion of it
add some yellow to the various greens and it will sizzle.WINNER WINNER

I don't have a problem either way as long as we get a team.I didn’t say that. Obviously the owners will decide. I’m just saying the owners should use Portland because it’s the city of Portland whose contributing towards the infrastructure improvements and what have you. So in fairness it should be named after Portland.
Plus 90% of the population of the state is in the Portland metro area anyways. It’s only right that’s it’s named after the main fan base
Mac and Canseco = negated by ‘roids
But yeah.... your response is like saying the Blazers are world champs (they were 40+ years ago).

The question is... do you care if you replicate a college name?
Not me.

I actually like that...The Oregon Rivers (of course)
i think as long as it not another pro team it is fine. The question is... do you care if you replicate a college name?
Serious question. Why is this relevant? Here is a picture of the current state of the Civic/PGE/JeldWen Timbers stadium

It isn't really. Just work on a different stadium. Timbers are playing this weekend for a championship.Serious question. Why is this relevant?

HahahahanoThis is not one of my own suggestions. A texter sent in the name The Portland Yeti(Oregon), with a call out to Sasquatch on Dusty and Cam yesterday morning. They both seemed to like that, Cam especially.
What does everyone else think? Like it or hate it?
Not at all. Was just wondering if I missed sonethingIt isn't really. Just work on a different stadium. Timbers are playing this weekend for a championship.
You can have it removed if you like.
