My thinking is they have an angle?
The payment is not new news. It's been on budget and has three levels. Also they can and probably will ask for deferment until more information is available.

Point is this process will take time. Nobody will move until MLB makes it's decision. One thing i know for certain. Multiple sources have put a lot of effort into this. Would be a shame if it does not work out. The money is there. The site is there. The logistics can happen. They just need a team.

I don't know why that concept is so hard for people to understand. They aren't building a major league stadium without a major league team. The Portland Diamond Project is preparing to be ready if and when that becomes a reality. My guess is the upcoming deadline will simply be extended. It's not like the Port of Portland is doing anything with that land or has other buyers or anything like that.

It's exactly what this is all about. You have to prove that you are worthy. Doesn't mean you are going to be the city that gets the team. If Portland is selected as the city that receives a team then they will proceed.
I can personally guarantee that The Portland Diamond Project is doing it's part and has very good representation in this process.
Only time will tell.

What possible angle would they have?

Will never happen. To many against it

They have an article/page quota, and cribbed the recent Oregonian article, and thought it was an easy thing to regurgitate is my bet. Given their beat is stadium related news, makes sense they'd pick-up a local media story about a possible major project.

Wait? Am i missing something?
I have heard of a number of people who "Doubt" it will happen.
But i have yet to talk to any one who is actually "Against" it happening.

Maybe you can fill me in on this?

They're out there. They either don't understand where the money is coming from, or they're pissed that it will cost money to put in infrastructure.

Sorry, I should have been more clear.

Most of the important people are good with it. It's the fucking citizens that will make this hard. The minority seem to have large voices now a days.

Heard on the radio PDP is not firming up T2 property, will pay 30K a month to extend 6 months.
Tells me they have other sites in play possibly?

Or... they have a little money on hand, but not enough to actually close the deal.

They are not firming up because they don't have a team yet. Right now Portland and Montreal are the front runners but still takes 75% of the owners to say yes and the rest is still not a sure bet.

When is the last time anyone went to Lloyd Center? That would be the spot for a new stadium.

Went to a Giants game down in SF last weekend. Holy hell, baseball is freaking boring. But hanging out at the stadium was nice. Decent food options and great views. For a casual fan like me who rally hates the game with a passion, these things are a must.

Even all that can't make me watch that shit. There is a reason you constantly see fans asleep in the stands.

My kids all played and loved baseball while growing up, but they don't seem to want to watch it much on the tube.

We left after the 6th inning but were already 2.5 hrs in. I think I legit watched about 15 pitches in total in that time and we had decent seats.
Trust me, you didn't miss a thing.

This movement sure lost a lot of steam it seems.

They're still in the stadium concept phase ffs.

Yep, pretty much all they tweet out now is merchandise for you to buy with their logo on it lol.,
I kind of said that a few months ago in this thread. Im not a baseball fan, but I’m not against it. Maybe they just dont have any news, but things definitely seem to have slowed down.
