It still seems weird to me why the Suns would buy him out before the trade deadline with several teams potentially interested in a big expiring contract.

This also eliminates one of the teams that could have potentially used Ed Davis and that could've taken him on with no contract coming back.

Yep--@BonesJones has been suggesting for weeks in here that Davis to Boston for a pick would be a potential if not likely deadline that the Blazers should make. This news may well devastate him.
