where did you read that? There’s been reported cases of people contracting it twice
Yes there have been reports of people contracting it twice, but there does not seem to be conclusive proof that they did (in the cases I read about). The cases where the person seemed to contract it again are immediately following their initial illness, not months later and "experts" think they were not really completely clear.

Maybe the Blazers can do a little wheeling and dealing before the season starts up again.

Does CJ give a damn about anything other than money? He has 100+ mil guaranteed. Think about the people who you work alongside, who are paycheck to paycheck, depend on the games for their livelihood, who also don't have the luxury or avenues to further enhance their careers. I like CJ, but he comes off as a such a prick sometimes. These were his initial reactions to the news tonight. Not concern for health, or wellbeing of his colleagues, but his money.

No wonder the NBPA is such a joke.

I hope cj isn't taking any in person meetings. Serious

Jazz used the plane yesterday and the Grizz today. Damn!
From what i gather, they might be OK with the same plane stuff. Most viruses require hosts to survive and be transmitted, and while it's not specifically known with covid-19, other coronaviruses don't seem to last too long on simply surfaces. Most of the transmission with this one are apparently direct person to person contact via coughing/resp droplets. And also, plane staff have supposedly been super vigilant in disinfecting their aircrafts after use of late.

All that said, i'd be very surprised if this were only localized to Rudy and the Jazz.

I think way too many people are still thinking of this as a common flu. So far, it's proving to be significantly more fatal than the flu. And it's also proving to be as easily spread, if not easier. At one point yesterday, there were around 8500 reported cases in Italy and 630 deaths. That's a 7% mortality rate. Worldwide it's still hovering around 3%. If 100 million people contract this and there's a 2% mortality rate that's 2 million dead

I hope all the reports are alarmist and way off base. Unfortunately, the reporting is based upon estimates from experts. As someone said earlier, maybe the best we can do is flatten the curve of infection rate in order to manage care better without a collapse. And one way to do that is to discourage large gatherings of people like at a BB game or a concert.

I need to decide if I should go to Vegas. I want to but maybe that would be irresponsible of me?

So a question for the people who know the contacts better then I do. So if the Blazers don't end up playing any more games this year, that means they would have played 80% of their regular season games. Does that mean the players only will be able to collect 80% of their salary? is it a annual salary, or is it per game?

If suspending the season saves a life, it's worth it

I am ok with suspending the season because of the unknown about this virus. But when I hear things like "if we can save one life it is worth it" .........I can't help but wonder about other daily deadly activities. I mean we have lost around 90 people a day to traffic accidents for decades. Should driving cars be eliminated? Of course not, but you would think we would do something to try to stop it. But we never do.

you STILL think this is media driven?

Holy hell, dude. Look at what's happening in Italy. We are about 10 days away from that.
Didn't say it was media driven. Was comparing this versus H1N1 and the difference in how it is being reported and the level of hysteria versus back then. Also, I'm Italian and just had a huge trip to Italy cancelled. I'm very well aware of what's going on there with family and friends.

Well, we have traffic laws, to help save lives, we have created safer cars to help save lives, weve learned how to use camera’s and AI to help alert drivers of dangers and things they may not see, so I think we have done things to make driving and vehicles safer.

So I get it, there are dangers and risks to our lives simply by being alive. We can never take out that risk, and we cant just live in a bubble. There will be risks to going to a concert or an event, yesterday, today and tomorrow.

I truly don’t know what to think about this whole situation, I have a lot of thoughts many are conflicted, but if experts think slowing down events and such for a short time will help to control the virus and spread its out break into something manageable then I think its wise to listen.

I've been saying for years that all CJ cares is money

yet again i see this bandied about. it is a false equivalence. car accidents are unforeseen events. acquiring this virus... is not-- it has actually been very traceable and can be controlled.

we live with this inconvenience for a few months, fine. it will save lives.

CJ's tweet was reasonable and measured. Suggesting that players take the time to do something productive seems like a strange thing to turn into "what's wrong with the modern athlete."
