OT NBA season suspended & NCAA cancelling all sports for coronavirus

I had gotten to the point that I was going to make at least $1K this month from my YouTube channel and ticket sales (my Seatgeek code).

This is a huge blow. I had a rough year with some serious misfortune before this situation... This year is insane and it's only March 11th...

I was specifically talking to HCP because I know he isn’t some minimum salary cashier, as I’m pretty sure the Blazers pay enough for someone to build a savings if they’re financially prudent. (Not saying you’re a min. Salary employee, just stating why I said that.)

And yes, as a Blazer YouTuber, it’s gonna be tough.

I would also say though that when I started my entrepreneurial journey and my own YT channel, I had enough i savings where I wasn’t worried about how my channel would do for at least 6-12 months. (Affiliate links for software products mainly.)

I feel bad for you though; it’s clear you’ve worked hard. I do hope you (if you haven’t already) save a lot of what you earn for this reason. Particularly as I know the ups and downs of the income flow of YT.

WHAT THE FUCK MODS?

You move two current threads into a thread from several years ago that has nothing to do with the NBA and the Corona Virus and I see multiple threada about the same thing all the time. If anything this old shit shouldn;t have been dredged up and the two current ones could have been merged. What a cluster fuck.

Because thats the important thing to worry about........

You can still make videos FAM just change your aspect. I’m sure your viewers have their opinions on this and want to hear yours as well. This is almost unprecedented; weigh in and hear what they have to say as well. Keep your viewers informed as information develops, talk about what this means for the Blazers going forward, hindsight on the season, looking towards the future - etc...

The economical ramifications can be staggering.

And yet "The CDC researchers estimate that the H1N1 2009 pandemic virus caused 201,200 respiratory deaths and another 83,300 deaths from cardiovascular disease associated with H1N1 infections." Total: 284,000 deaths. Very little was done back then or nearly to this extent and the media hysteria/coverage was so much different.

you STILL think this is media driven?

Holy hell, dude. Look at what's happening in Italy. We are about 10 days away from that.

If anything, this is a saving grace for us. If we made the playoffs, our life would be short. Best to rest, get healthy and come back with a vengeance next season.

The silver lining is the L*kers were primed to win it all. F*** LA.

I still think it was the Bucks’ year

Depending on the year, 70% of my income comes from the Blazers. As I type this, I’m watching my wife cry. Haven’t felt like this in my house since the lockout. That nearly ruined us.....

Just deal with it. Hahahaha.

I have my popcorn ready. :bwpopcorn::biglaugh:

Maybe a few more sit ups as well? :biglaugh:

The words used were hiatus and suspended. So I don't think that the season is over. I think the league will be suspended for hopefully just a month and likely finish the playoffs in July. I think the draft will be moved back. The Summer Leagues might be impacted but I predict a full 82 game season, with a full playoff.

Im not sure they can actually do that, the fiscal year ends july1st. Players will be FA’s during the playoffs?

Does CJ give a damn about anything other than money? He has 100+ mil guaranteed. Think about the people who you work alongside, who are paycheck to paycheck, depend on the games for their livelihood, who also don't have the luxury or avenues to further enhance their careers. I like CJ, but he comes off as a such a prick sometimes. These were his initial reactions to the news tonight. Not concern for health, or wellbeing of his colleagues, but his money.

No wonder the NBPA is such a joke.

I know I don't interact with you much on here but you were the first person I thought of when I heard the league was suspending games. I hope for a speedy resolution and that you get the rest of the 82 games when the league resumes. Really sorry that you have to go through this situation.

Hope so.

If they don’t resume the season next month, maybe they start next season with this season’s records. Ultimately a 100 game season?

Hope so. There’s be conflicts with concerts at arenas but hopefully they can make it work. Get Collins back and kick ass.

If they can get to a point where no more players are testing positive in 3-4 weeks, they should see if they can play a few more games and then do a NCAA style one-and-done bracket for the playoffs (TV only, no live audience).
