This is so stupid.

Seriously, this Coronvavirus will not be gone for a long time. I have heard it could take a year to develop a decent vaccine. Shutting everything down will stop nothing and we're just going to have to learn to live with it. This is just fear mongering stupidity.

One of the refs just worked a Jazz game. Kings players heading to locker room.

I know I don't interact with you much on here but you were the first person I thought of when I heard the league was suspending games. I hope for a speedy resolution and that you get the rest of the 82 games when the league resumes. Really sorry that you have to go through this situation.
Those are kind words brother, thank you.

Im not sure they can actually do that, the fiscal year ends july1st. Players will be FA’s during the playoffs?
I think it would take cooperation and negotiation with the NBA and NBAPA but I think it could get done. It would throw some things off but I think the season and playoffs can be salvaged and it would be in the best interests of the league and players, not to mention the countless others who depend on the NBA for their livelihood.

You can still make videos FAM just change your aspect. I’m sure your viewers have their opinions on this and want to hear yours as well. This is almost unprecedented; weigh in and hear what they have to say as well. Keep your viewers informed as information develops, talk about what this means for the Blazers going forward, hindsight on the season, looking towards the future - etc...

good luck selling seat geek tix with that tho

We are about 10 days away from this.

Learn to live with this?

This is surreal. Now Lonzo Ball walks out and starts warming up.

I don’t think so. It’s a part of trying to manage the outbreak so that the inevitable millions of cases are spread out over several months instead of a few weeks. If they can flatten the curve, there’s a chance our medical system can keep up. If it’s a severe spike, we’re screwed.

Wow! They just canceled the Kings vs Pelicans moments before tip-off. I thought they were going to let tonight's games play out, I guess not.

Depending on the year, 70% of my income comes from the Blazers. As I type this, I’m watching my wife cry. Haven’t felt like this in my house since the lockout. That nearly ruined us.....

As I said, I feel bad for you.

I was legitimately trying to say something of value for everyone.

Because I know a ton of people in your situation.

and it truly makes me sad.

since it doesn’t have to be this way.

kinda like how CJ just told players he hoped they were smart with their money.

I hope moving forward EVERYONE in here has 6-12 months covered.

Don’t care about differing BASKETBALL opinions; this is much more (even if you think it’s fearmongering.)

sorry if it came across otherwise

but like I said

I hope everyone builds up that savings

and even if 100% of your income was Blazers, should still build an emergency fund!

once again!

sorry to hear

didn’t mean to rub salt in the wound

just want everyone to come out ok

Presume it’s probably too early for statistics on getting ill again for those who have contracted and recovered from Covid-19?

Sorry you’re getting hit so hard. I hope something else in the way of an opportunity comes along quickly. I just met my new neighbor who’s moving in next door today. He said he works for the Blazers and now I’m wondering how he’s going to be hit by this.

Does CJ give a damn about anything other than money? He has 100+ mil guaranteed. Think about the people who you work alongside, who are paycheck to paycheck, depend on the games for their livelihood, who also don't have the luxury or avenues to further enhance their careers. I like CJ, but he comes off as a such a prick sometimes. These were his initial reactions to the news tonight. Not concern for health, or wellbeing of his colleagues, but his money.

No wonder the NBPA is such a joke.

I literally took the exact opposite of this.

He is worried about his fellow players making good investment decisions because most don’t have 100mm guaranteed like he does.

most rely on that paycheck.

so when it’s gone, they’re fucked.

he’s telling them to be smart, because stuff like this happens.

literally everything you just said is exactly what CJ appears to be doing

showing concern for colleagues who depend on that paycheck.

Even people who aren’t working for the Blazers have been massively affected.

The stock market has legitimately wiped out people’s retirements.

Its why I’m worried for everyone.

And yet "The CDC researchers estimate that the H1N1 2009 pandemic virus caused 201,200 respiratory deaths and another 83,300 deaths from cardiovascular disease associated with H1N1 infections." Total: 284,000 deaths. Very little was done back then or nearly to this extent and the media hysteria/coverage was so much different.
Again it's not an either-or situation. It's not flu or coronavirus it's never been that you're making a false argument

Should we hold off on declaring a full season prediction game winner?

I didn’t mean to imply otherwise. This is going to hit certain economic sectors very hard. It may trigger a major recession. People are going to hurt physically and economically.

It's already out there. You're not going to avoid it. There are people who are more at risk. Are we just gonna shut down society? How would that even work? It's a more deadly flu, and the regular flu is deadly.
there are PLENTY of ways to control spread. You literally just saw it with the NBA suspension. Tons of workplaces going into remote mode. This absolutely IS controllable with basic action. We need to learn from Italy, not dismiss this as media hysteria and simply remain status quo.

If suspending the season saves a life, it's worth it
