What is the connection here? If you're making a dig at LMA, he's not the only player that is playing with LaMarcus for the first time this year.

Seriously? My goodness, it seems you are taking that WAY too seriously.

I legitimately have no idea what was the connection you were trying to make.

It's not nitpicking, I've discussed why already.

Durant could've just signed with Brooklyn. GS had to include 2 1st round picks and dump Iggy just to take back Russell so Durant didn't leave for nothing. That's not anywhere near the situation with Whiteside this summer.

Wright was a restricted free agent. Dallas offered to do a sign and trade to entice Memphis not to match. Again, Whiteside is not a restricted free agent and Dallas had cap space.

The Kemba situation was a double sign-and-trade. This may in fact be possible with Whiteside this summer and if it works great but this was an extremely rare circumstance in which both teams wanted a free agent from the other team and both players also agreed to sign there as well. If Kemba wanted to sign somewhere other than Boston or Rozier somewhere other than Charlotte the deal would've been off. Boston did have cap space too so they didn't have to agree to the sign and trade.

No longer interested in this discussion as I have shown examples, explained why it can be beneficial and some of the analysts have even mentioned sign and trades may become a tool for teams to use. Nothing more needs to be said.

Here's my trade: CJ McCollum, Zach Collins, Nassir Little, Anfernee Simons, and Skal Labissiere for Karl Anthony Towns and Robert Covington. Minnesota sucks with Towns and Covington, they need a reboot. We have the players for that reboot. This could be a decent, young starting 5.

Wait a minute. Portland could (could they? ) also take Wiggins bad contract in a trade of Whiteside. Wiggins isn't so bad this season. His true shooting percentage is the same as CJ McCollum.

You may think you have but alas no sir you have not.

A solution to the trade or keep Whiteside question could be about to present itself.

If Boston trades for Capela, Enes Kanter would probably have to be a part of that. Houston doesn't want Kanter and not only would he fit in the Baze TPE but we already know that he fits on the court as well. This would open up being able to trade Whiteside for whatever the best player is and not worry about getting back a center.

Houston has to have some decent size back from Boston if they deal Capela. Two of their 3 bigs are 37 y/0 garbage. The Lakers would simply destroy them in the playoffs. Portland should steer clear of Kanter. Hassan is better all around player than Enes, IMHO not even close. If Portland was real contender this year with a strong record, Hassan would have been in the All Star discussion or DPOTY talk.

If Portland were to trade for KAT.
They'd need Nurk to be part of that deal.

Enter the three team trade. Who knows what will happen this deadline

I honestly don't care. Trust in Dame 100%.

ATL wants to upgrade their center position.
Perhaps Portland could help with that.

Whiteside out.
Lin/Parker/Teague in.

Doesn't do much for the future, but does bolster the bench for the stretch run/playoffs.
Well... Other than telling Simons we've seen enough. Come back next year better.

At least I support my opinions and posts by backing up what I say. You just resort to making it personal every time (next post you'll tell me to "let it go") and not backing up your opinions.

I really can't see how this helps us now or in the future.

Whatever, you said it's a win-win-win for all teams involved to do a sign and trade to a team without cap space. You have still failed to show an example of that working out for a team in a situation similar to what we'd have with Whiteside this summer. I'm not being argumentative at all. I asked you why we don't see it very often if it is such a good thing for all those involved and you came back at me with a list of sign and trades that had nothing to do with what I was asking you.

I guess you're unable to continue or have a discussion.

Last summer Miami signed Butler and Philly got Josh Richardson.

If Nurk had come back early early January, I could see us discussing Whiteside deals currently. If he's not coming back until after the all star break, I just don't see it happening.

Who is Lin?

Really? Karl Anthony Towns this season has a BETTER true shooting percentage (64.4%) than Damian Lillard in his best season (62.8%).
Towns's CAREER AVERAGE is 62.2 percent. As mentioned, Lillard this season is shooting 62.8 percent, and his career average is 57.8 %. If we average Lillard's last 2 2/3 season, he's at about 60%.
Lillard NEEDS another elite scorer. That makes the Blazers a contender.
I do not think the Blazers are a contender without another serious and high-percentage scoring threat. Towns obviously has the size to be very difficult to defend, especially if he is teamed with Damian Lillard.

Atl can't combine Teague's contract in a trade.

I don't understand the thinking that the Blazers will be contenders by adding more good role players. We need another guy who can score like Lillard, meaning from all over the floor at a high percentage, being difficult to defend. Or do those people think that player is on the team now?
Portland probably hasn't had the assets to trade for a player like that in the past, but right now they seem to, along with draft pick(s), as the Lakers and Clippers did.

Kevin Love is still out there.

Because Portland needs more guys like Ariza. They are already top 10 in scoring. They are bottom ten in defense.
