I think the perfect time to change the roster is when they finally start playing well.

Who is Lin?

I aint google.

Atl can't combine Teague's contract in a trade.

Cool
I'd just like to see Portland pick up an experienced guard going into this stretch run/playoffs.
I've seen enough of Simons to realize next year or possibly the year after is the play.
Going into this run with Trentjr as the 3rd guard and Simons as the 4th I don't think is a winning strategy. Trentjr may produce, he might not. Unlikely Simons does.

Dont let one 4 game streak overshadow the other 46 games. Dames not gonna average 50 the rest of the season. This team still isnt good enough to contend, and although Ive seen improvement in the things I wanted to see improvement in lately, I still dont have confidence in our coach or that itll stay consistent.

You can always get better. I don’t see the teams above Portland, like the clippers and rockets, standing pat either.

Agreed.....and even if they don't make moves, they are at least a tier above Portland in terms of how good they are. Factor in that the Blazers will be on the road for any Playoff series they might have.

This. Dame is out of his mind right now and it's pure basketball joy to watch. But he will return to his mean at some point and then will we be back to where we were before or hopefully slightly better with the improvement/addition of players like Little, Trent and Ariza? It's taken Dame playing at a super-human, historical level for this winning streak to happen. It would be disingenuous to expect that to continue.

I don't understand the thinking that the Blazers will be contenders by adding more good role players. We need another guy who can score like Lillard, meaning from all over the floor at a high percentage, being difficult to defend. Or do those people think that player is on the team now?
Portland probably hasn't had the assets to trade for a player like that in the past, but right now they seem to, along with draft pick(s), as the Lakers and Clippers did.
I asked you a question about this in another thread and didn't see an answer from you, sorry if you did respond and I missed it.

I don't think KAT is going to be available this season. So if we don't trade Whiteside this week and they don't want CJ (it wouldn't make sense for them if they were trading KAT) what would we have to offer for KAT even if they wanted our picks and young players this summer.

Because Portland needs more guys like Ariza. They are already top 10 in scoring. They are bottom ten in defense.
I agree they need more guys like Ariza. But they also need one more guy like Lillard if the goal is to try to be a dominant team in the west, a contender not by fluke.

I see Olshey does nothing and when Nurk and Zach come back then going evaluate when majority of the team healthy and then make changes in the off season.

I don't think KAT is going to be available , but I didn't think Paul George would be available either. KAT will be there until he says he wants out. But why would CJ not make sense if they were trading KAT? Too much salary?

Well, usually if a team trades a player like KAT they'd be looking at a rebuild so picks and young players would be the package back. CJ is 4 years older than KAT so it doesn't make a lot of sense.

A solution to the trade or keep Whiteside question could be about to present itself.

If Boston trades for Capela, Enes Kanter would probably have to be a part of that. Houston doesn't want Kanter and not only would he fit in the Baze TPE but we already know that he fits on the court as well. This would open up being able to trade Whiteside for whatever the best player is and not worry about getting back a center.

Who is our Center in the Playoffs if we have to play during Ramadan? Or are you assuming Collins and Nurk will be ready to go?

Was Ramadan the problem last year or would he have been fine without the shoulder injury?

Ariza and a protected 1st round pick for Covington.

One can always dream.

I like Robert but I don't think there is enough upside. It's more money and you're messing with something that is finally working with Ariza. The only deal I think that makes sense realistically, is adding a veteran point guard who can take minutes from Simons. Nurk will fix the Biggie problem on its own.

Posted this in another thread, but Portland needs to get in the middle of this trade and steal Okobo.

Trade Mario + 2020 2nd for him!
What do you see in him?

Didn't like him before the draft and hasn't shown much early in his career.

Who is speculating that Ariza gets moved again?
I think that it would be smart to move Ariza again... but I haven't heard much discussion regarding that. Also, I'm not sure he has much value either.

I highly doubt Boston would do that.
It also complicates things for the Blazers, as Hayward makes $5m more than Whiteside is is likely out for the rest of the year.
Hayward is often injured. So, why would we want another payout without a return.?

Maybe if we'd throw a 1st rounder, Minny won't laugh at our face.

Hassan\Skal\Caleb
Kat\Melo\Gabriel
Covington\Ariza
Trent\Little
Lillard \JackShit

Trade Nurkic and keep Whiteside. Nurk already has broken his leg two times in two years in Portland, i dont trust him to stay healthy, and Whiteside is better btw
