Offering max and butler signs will actually save Chicago money.I meant salary wise, is there any way to construct something Chicago couldn't match?

Yep, save 1 less year and less yearly bonusesNo.
You can only do the Bulls a huge favor by giving him an offer they can match.
He will be a bargain at current max salary once the TV contract kicks in.Yep, save 1 less year and less yearly bonuses
If I were him, I'd sign the QO and go UFA next summer.Ok so there's no way he's leaving? Just wanted to make sure lol
I absolutely agree, which is why I believe Chicago will just give him max regardless. Maybe they wait a few days to see if butler is stupid enough to sign with someone else. The worst case scenario would be Butler signing the QO and forces Chicago to offer even a crazier contract when the new TV deal kicks inHe will be a bargain at current max salary once the TV contract kicks in.
I would LOVE Noah and Taj on the blazers, bad knees or no.
LMA would and that would be good enough for PA.Yah but would Paul?
I would LOVE Noah and Taj on the blazers, bad knees or no.
I like the Gibson for Kaman but have a serious problem with bad knees and the Blazers..call me nostalgicI would LOVE Noah and Taj on the blazers, bad knees or no.
seriously HOW can you want guys on the Blazers with bad knees?I would LOVE Noah and Taj on the blazers, bad knees or no.
Here's why:seriously HOW can you want guys on the Blazers with bad knees?
I thought Livingston was fully recovered and healthy...Noah is notHere's why:
The Blazers have an awesomeness rating of 90%. It is VERY hard to get from 90% to 95%. Sacrifices will have to be made: take on a talented headcase, take on players with injury problems, outsmart the other GMs,... GS won a championship using "horrible knees" Livingston, do you think that was a bad idea? Of course not, it was a calculated gamble.
To be honest, I would hate to toss max money at him. I just don't see how he would be worth it.DeAndre Jordan not mentioned as meeting with the Blazers.

With Leonard and Plumlee, he's not worth itTo be honest, I would hate to toss max money at him. I just don't see how he would be worth it.
In fact, some agents feel that move will backfire.
I don't know if I can stomach another year of "Aldridge is leaving" bullshit. If I was LA's agent I wouldn't suggest it to him.
If they talk to Wes they'll grab the longest contract they can while healthyMax money deals signed this year may evolve under the new cap. I was listening to something the other day where that had been a big research focus for agents this year - how to write contracts so that max contracts signed this year adjust to max under the new figures of next offseason. It's happening. So, we supposedly should not expect a lot of max guys signing one-year deals this offseason to try to hit free agency next offseason. In fact, some agents feel that move will backfire.

I actually like the idea of having Lin on the bench..out market would grow overnight by half a billion fans and he is better than Blake. He'd be a fan favorite in the NorthwestJeremy Lin is a UFA.
He might be a pretty good fit next to Lillard, and you get a playmaker to fill the void left by the Batum trade.
Go after Leonard.
SA has shown they always shortchange their stars "for the good of the team" and they are nothing but scrubs and cripples who will be gone over the next 4-5 years, including Popovich. Why on earth would he turn down a better offer on a younger team? Offers can be structured in such a way as to prevent the other team from wanting to match. I seem to recall PA did that so successfully once that David Stern took him to court over it, and lost.
