adding a rookie isn't saving KP's job.
If his name was "John Wall" and he didn't have to gut the roster to get him, it sure as hell would!

OK, this made me laugh. You have the second overall pick as the team's third string shooting guard, behind Rudy?

I couldn't help but laugh either. But if we put Rudy ahead of the second pick in the draft, maybe that would stop him bitching since he is higher on the depth chart than a potential stud.![]()
You really think so? If he's mad at KP for our roster of potential and next year, a big name rookie is going to save his job? Hell no.If his name was "John Wall" and he didn't have to gut the roster to get him, it sure as hell would!

LMA and Bayless isn't enough for Bosh, let alone him AND Calderon.

Sorry, meant contract wise it isn't enough.Does Calderon hold positive value? With his contract and production?
Would a sign and trade with the Suns work?
Amare and Nash for LMA, Bayless and Rudy get this done?
Nash, Miller, Koponen
Roy, Turner
Batum, Cunningham
Amare, Pendergraph
Camby, Oden
Still could trade Pryz, Webster and our #22 to Philly for Brand and Turner!
And would be in a nice position come the 2011 trade deadline to move Miller for a prospect PG?

Once the knicks realize they are out of the Lebron sweepstakes, what about a three team deal that sends LMA and our #22 to NY; Pryz and Lee go to Toronto; and Bosh comes to the Blazers?
Haven't seen this guess thrown out there yet - although I admittedly just did a quick scan.
I wouldn't ignore Deron Williams. I know that he's basically a superstar and in our division, so in that sense, he's probably an unlikely candidate, BUT...
If Utah was certain that Boozer was leaving, do they really think they can compete w/ DWill, an injured and aging Okur, Milsap and some undrafted wings? In a division with us, upcoming OKC, and Denver I don't think they can, they may, quietly, be considering rebuilding with youth.
-People have mentioned that the hint that Quick gave is that it would happen during or before the draft which eliminates the Bosh's, Lebrons, Wades, Joe Johnsons, etc., of the world, but NOT Dwill.
-It's no secret that KP has always had his eye on Utah and more specifically, he's discussed his desire for DWill w/ Quick before.
-DWill is an absolutely perfect fit next to BRoy
-Remember DWill was VERY upset earlier in the season, and their early ousting in the playoffs and Boozer leaving can't excite him.
-Okur has alot of $ left and 3 years his contract and Kirilenko has 2 years at $16.5M left. With Pryz and Andre, Portland could conceivably absorb a ton of that $ from Utah.
Obviously this is almost a 'blow up' type deal, but like I said, I was trying to think outside the box for something that would keep KP here and fit w/ the "hints"...
Something like Dre, Pryz, 22, Batum, Rudy, our Euros, and Cash for DWill, Okur and Kirilenko would certainly put Portland in a position to go for a championship and allow Utah to shed a ton of money and gives them alot of young prospects...
Out there for sure, no question, but it's a thought. I'd LOOOOOOOOVE to have DWill here!
I'd rather trade Aldridge with his bloated contract instead of Batum.
I'd rather have Aldridge and Turner than Batum and Favors, I think.
Or would I? Aldridge and Turner are older and Aldridge is WAY more expensive. I think I need to ponder this a bit.

I'm not sure that this is accurate, but I have seen a couple of sources saying that Joel has already picked up his option:

Unfortunately, the NBA isn't keeping its transactions page up to date right now.
