And that can be plugged in with any combo of players. So the only thing that makes sense is that we have a specific trade on the table with another team that needed a different amount of money coming in than we could have put together with players we're willing to give up.

Still though, we should have made the Clippers pay a lot more in draft assets to get that much better.

again... im almost certain you can't combine bledsoe's deal with any of our other contracts in a non-simultaneous trade. we can move bled one for one, but not with Nurk and Ant.

Dude as has been pointed out to you ad nauseam we didn't clear enough cap space to really make a difference given what we owe guys and the cap holds on Ant and Nurk. Don't get me wrong though there are possible logical reasons that we brought back the players we did... they just aren't the reason that you're holding onto despite the fact that many people have very clearly explained to you why you're wrong.

Even if there are good reasons (another trade) for the players that we brought back, it still really doesn't explain why Cronin couldn't get more than a 2025 second rounder due to the discrepancy in value of the players being exchanged.

Correct, unless we do it in combination with this trade. Once this trade is made official with the league office, Bledsoe can only be moved on his own
 
Not that we'll do anything with it, but I believe we should generate about a 6 million TPE with this deal.
 
This trade was made to get under the tax no matter what without caring what we gave up or took in. Everyone in the r/nba fans from every team around the league is laughing at us. We did a good job making the Clippers really good though. The dark days are getting darker.

Shit, I think you're right but there might be a window on that where this trade becomes a three teamer. We'll just have to see. I do believe that more will happen before the deadline that will be the reason why this trade made sense to Cronin but I sincerely doubt that it will satisfy most of us even if we do end up better than we were before today because like I've been saying you can't just gift the Clippers that much talent without getting value back in return.

I think everyone will still be laughing at us when all of the dust settles but they might not be laughing quite as hard. There has to be more to come but hey this trade is so shitty, I never could have imagined we would do something like it. So maybe the next 6 days will have even worse moves. Who the fuck knows, right?
 
There is zero positive spin on this. I'm convinced Allen wanted us to be so pissed that we won't be mad when she sells the team and it gets moved.
 
if nurk is gone, hes off to charlotte or toronto

im pretty sure one of these two destinations

to effectively tank we need to get first round picks in return from some of our assets. we couldn't even get a protected first round pick for norm and roco.. disgusting

That's not a choice that had to be made. We had bird rights on all of those dudes. I'm not saying that those guys made sense on our future roster but Powell and Covington are really good players with good contracts and value around the league. You can't just give them away, even if it was to clear space for Ant... but it can't be because the move only cleared just a little over 6M at the most.

The NBA and the other owners do not want the Blazers to move.

Honest question. Do you think Cronin turned down better deals for these two with such positive value so he could make the shittiest deal possible thus ruining his career as a GM? Or could there be more to it.
