Regarding THIS thread people should have stopped responding to Denny after his last bigoted sentence in post #216 Because for him to say what he said there while knocking Robertson's opinions is borderline comical.

This latest news is really going to piss Denny off, after receiving over 250,000 (that's a quarter of a million) signatures on a petition A&E has reinstated Ducks dynasty's patriarch Phil Robertson.

Sorry Denny it's embarrassing enough that only 2-3 posters in this entire thread agreed with you, but now 1/4 of a million others agree with over 90% of the posters in this thread. All I can say is.......OOOUCH!!

Seriously, you were shown the smoking gun and ignored it. The bible passage he edited or removed words from his recital. Changed the entire meaning of the text from "there are sinners out there" to "homosexuals are murderers."

Compare for yourself. The bible passage did not say this:

The more I read about him and his apologists, the more twisted logic and just bad reasoning I see.

The man CAN cite bible verse word for word, but paraphrases instead. To twist the text to meet his homophobic world view.

The Corinthians passage mentions homosexuality as a sin. Fine, I got that all along. I even would respect his answer if he said "the bible says homosexuality is a sin and I am a believer."

What Corinthians does not include is the invective phrasing, like "homosexual offender." HIS words, hateful, invective, targeting homosexuals. His agenda, target homosexuals and associate the with terrorists or the acts with bestiality (also inserted into the paraphrasing by him).

He's got you fooled because he uses some of the words in the bible. He's just not stringing them together as written in the bible, and twisting the meaning to suit his purposes: hate gays.

I'm not telling you my interpretation of what he meant. That sort of thing is required to attempt to defend the indefensible: his words are clear, but you have to explain them away to somehow prove he's not the bigoted racist he has proven himself to be.

Does it really matter Al? If I had to guess though I say that the majority of the people against Robertson's personal opinions were member of GLAAD. And of course our own Denny, Which I've no problem with. As I've said a time or two during this thread, opinions are like assholes........everybody has one.
