Atlanta Hawks might do some retooling around Trae Young. Any realistic interest in any of there players?

I like the idea of acquiring Collins. I don't think he's good enough to trade the 7th pick for but if they wanted to trade us Collins and the 16th pick for our pick if it's 6-8 and Bledsoe, I'd do that.

If we could come away with John Collins, Kyle Anderson and another vet for the Atlanta pick. I think the refurbish would go quickly.

Collins
Nurk

I like that roster for the playoffs way better than anything we’ve had recently

Toronto with Siakam, Anunoby, Scottie Barnes and now Achiuwa, they need to work on getting an athletic Big (Duren). Guards in FVV and GTJr. Who’s the possible odd man out who makes money? OG Anunoby.

If the pick doesn’t jump up, then send it … include Little if need be. A pair of OG and Grant would be the best off-season in recent memory.

[full disclosure: this is a Dan Marang dream scenario outcome. The particulars for outgoing may or may not line up with his.]

well, to start with, the Marang dream seems a nearly impossible dream, and it would be very expensive

getting Grant would rely on Detroit accepting the 2025 Milwaukee first for Grant, then slotting him into the Blazer TPE. I don't see much reason for them to do that. Just remember the massive disappointment in Blazer nation when Portland potential pick went from 11th in the coming draft to a pick 3 years from now

as for Anunoby....I'm seeing a lot of pining for Anunoby among Blazer fans and am wondering if there is some 'grass-is-greener' overrating of him going on. He's a nice player, and he's a wing while Portland has a massive void at wing. But he doesn't really do anything at a high level. His PER marks run about league average. His TS% is higher than average, for his career, but his mark this season has fallen dramatically after his role was expanded. He's a mediocre rebounder for a 230lb forward. He has a low assist rate. He's probably above average as a defender but not remarkably so

don't get me wrong, it would be great to have him on the Blazers....but not at the cost of a top-7 pick, AND, either the TPE or Josh Hart (that pesky issue of matching his 16M salary)

I think if a team has a top-7 pick they should hope for a better player than Anunoby. Certainly there's no guarantee, but at least they should roll those dice

No argument with your use of, or argument based on, stats. I remember thinking he was a nice role player as a draftee with measurables. His skills improvement as a player has been impressive. Work ethic. His handles actually work and can be further refined (a serious improvement, already). He’s a switchable guy on D and for team D. Opportunistic. A no frills shooting stroke.

I suppose, in the games I’ve watched, I just really like his game, presence on the court … everything.
A hard-hat-wearing-middle-class-version of Paul Pierce. Okay poor-man version. Not elite. I’m not thoroughly insane.

With the hit-miss that is around 6-8 in the lottery, OG is a value trade for a team that has had a hole for too long. I agree that it’s long odds of getting OG and Grant done without going too far in outgoing value + sweeteners.

Here is my favorite from another article that was on that link.

In the proposed four-team trade, the Lakers would get Lillard, the Trail Blazers would receive Russell Westbrook, Jonathan Kuminga, and a 2022 first-round pick, the Warriors would obtain LeBron James, and the Thunder would land Andrew Wiggins.

Westbrook, Kuminga and a first for Dame. Why do all these draft rumors always having Portland giving up the best player for a terrible return.

The way the Hawks flamed out, and how reactionary their GM sometimes appears, it would not surprise me to see wholesale changes.

Collins is at the top of my list as a target because he appears like he desperately needs a change of scenery, but I don't want to give up our only lottery pick for him.

I would gauge whether they want to move Huerter for cap relief and see if they'd throw in assets. Their payroll looks daunting and a DeAndre Hunter extension might be coming next year.

Bogdanovic is a Dame favorite from the past, but Josh Hart covers a lot of same skills at the same size.

How reasonable is this?

It would have to be broken up into two trades so, we'd use Bledsoe/Johnson/2025 MIL pick, and two seconds for Grant and Huerter. We'd absorb Huerter with our TPE.

But we'd still keep our own pick.

Prolly need more going to Utah.

Dame / Simons /?
Simons /Hart
Little / Huerter
Grant / Winslow / Watford
Nurk / ?

Yeah, I think Utah definitely needs more. Atlanta needs to include more. Maybe they take on Bledsoe, move Johnson to Detroit, and Atlanta adds another pick to utah

I doubt McLemore would even want to stick around. He wouldn’t get any PT unless of an injury.

I like the idea of Gobert, but his production, especially in the Playoffs, is not worth the massive amount of money. Last 2 Playoff series, 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 1 block, and got schemed off the court against the Clippers last year. He could be used better, as Mitchell would hardly pass to him, but that is a LOT of money for someone who isn't stellar in the Playoffs.

What? They would get rid of his contract and get two first-round picks? Portland is the one that should hang up. I would rather spend 40 million on Nurk and a good backup.

Agreed. If Cronin makes a play for Gobert and his behemoth salary, he really should be canned.

He's not worth the money.

S&T Nurkic + EBEC for Gobert [filler as needed]. Since he's not worth the $$$ to Utah and Nurkic will help with scoring, PNR, passing, decent D and Mitchell ... that's why they might trade Gobert.
Lillard would work with Gobert to make it work really well ... Nurkic wasn't exactly a projected easy personality fit.

Nurkic and Lillard are close, and Nurkic isn't the problem as he's not a forward. So, this isn't a make-this-happen kind of trade. I do prefer the < $18 million centers
