The mid range game was/is sexy af. So many players like dalano Banton (who I have a spot in my heart for) just run into the lane and jump in the air with zero plan so they either throw up a poor % attempt or turn it over throwing it 20 feet over a man’s head.I wonder about this quite a bit. It would drop the overall 3pt percentage and probably make the mid range game a bit more valuable? Not to mention it would bring the big man back into the game.

so, bring back intentional mid range and stop treating every mf possession like “pass it 75 times until we can get the best shot at a 3”
it completely sucks as a product for the fans, and true basketball fans cherished the mid range stars. Players who are great mid range players typically have much more evident skill sets that can even translate into backing guys down and working the paint as well.
it still works at LA fitness, it still works with demar derozan being the only player who seemingly cares anymore about it. It’s timeless but it requires discipline and high basketball iq to pull off - two reasons why DA, as much as he tries, is not reliable despite his attempts to become a mid range God.
Thing is….when the league is making the type of money they are from ESPN…etc…. They aren’t going to make major rules changes. Those sponsors don’t seem to be worried about “declining ratings”. I’m not sure how they can figure out rating anyway to be honest. 15 years ago there was only 2 ways to watch the games…..now there’s what, at least 10. They’ll throw some bones out there like the changes at allstar break and this tournament, but nothing major. Not until they aren’t making money like they are.I agree with Shaq.
You weren’t going to watch anyway and if you did you would complain about it. Who cares.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a major change though... when they got rid of handchecking that wasn't viewed as some revolutionary change, it was just supposed to make the game faster, freer flowing, and more enjoyable. It kind of worked for awhile but over the years seems to have kept changing and now possibly gone to far.Thing is….when the league is making the type of money they are from ESPN…etc…. Having the rookie/sophmore winner as one team should make it much more competitive. The young guys will want to beat the stars and the stars will be embarrassed to lose to them. I actually really like that dynamic.40 points to win? I assume they're banking on the low threshold prompting the players to actually play defense? Seems unlikely.
Utah had the best record in the league in 2021.Yeah - the Jazz draft picks the last few years aren't very exciting.
They actually haven't drafted as high as you'd think since they had a few years with unexpected wins - appears they are more aggressively tanking now to get higher picks.
What do you do with 24 All Stars? Some of them are sophomores/rookies but most aren’t. How would all the vets get minutes? And people have been saying they want more All Stars not less.Having the rookie/sophmore winner as one team should make it much more competitive. Maybe you didnt see the structure. What do you do with 24 All Stars? Some of them are sophomores/rookies but most aren’t. How would all the vets get minutes? And people have been saying they want more All Stars not less.
Oh interesting. Well, we’ll see how it goes. You still can’t force people to play defense. You can’t force people to care. The two All Stars teams have no incentive to win. They’d be heavily favored. Why would they want to play against the rookie/sophomore team? They’d rather avoid embarrassment than take it head on. Like the dunk contest. I think the only solution to the All Star game is to give the winning conference HCA in the Finals. That’s it. Otherwise, they won’t care.Maybe you didnt see the structure.
There will be 24 allstars same as least year. They will be split into 3 teams of 8 players and the final team is the rookie/sophmore winner. Two semifinal games then winners play the final game. All games are to 40 points.
There will now be 15 allstar starters instead of previously 10.
How could anyone think that was a good idea.https://www.yahoo.com/sports/hornet...-and-taking-it-away-off-camera-230954440.html
The Hornets apparently did a skit the other night on the court during a timeout when they had the mascot gift a child a PS5 after his Christmas letter to Santa was read allowed to the arena.
After they went into back however, off of camera, they took the PS5 back and gave the kid a jersey.
After a lot of blowback, the Hornets organization is giving him the PS5 after all along with a VIP experience to a future game.
What a bizarre thing. Why gift him the PS5 then take it back?

Murray is special in the postseason. You can’t give that up.Murray contract is worse, I'd want to swap that if I was the Nuggets.
Might even prefer LaVine over Porter Jr.
Jokic made an elderly Westbrook look like a respectable starter. He'd probably make LaVine look like an all-NBA player again.
Very bizarre. With award shows, they usually take your trophy back from you when you get offstage and then they mail you one in a few weeks later. But this is wild.https://www.yahoo.com/sports/hornet...-and-taking-it-away-off-camera-230954440.html
