Anthony Davis and Kyrie.... do they even have a 50% chance to make the playoffs now?

Dallas is such a bizarre franchise. They win a title and break up the team a few months later.

15 years later they have a 25 year old MVP who makes the finals and they trade him for a chronically injured 32 year old big man who might be an all-star backup.

A Luka/Lebron team in like a second round exit without some bigs. If we give them RW3 I’m gonna be pissed.

I could see the possibility of this still having Dallas compete for this year's title. But long term, this is an abject disaster for Dallas.

I like it for Dallas in the immediate.
Me too. Kyrie/AD/Klay plus their solid role players makes the favorite in the West, I think. Obviously long term, it’s dumb. I feel sorry for all the little kids in Dallas who just lost their favorite player. Finally,I predict LeBron is going to throw Warriors now.

Even if his GM is an idiot - how the fuck does ownership approve?

Exactly.

Mark Cuban is a smart dude. I know he's a minority owner but damn, he's gotta be calling someone up.

Rationally, the only reason for Dallas to even entertain this thought is that Dallas did not want to pay Luka 70 mil/yr.

idiotic reason if true for a generational superstar
Only reason is if Luka needs a knee replacement surgery - and even then it's probably a bad deal.

I believe he was still the one making the call on stuff like this.
