Pelicans are on an even bigger slide

they fattened up their record with an extremely heavy stretch of home games (17 of 24 games at home). And they were 11 games over .500. Then their schedule evened out and they have gone 3-10 since then

of course, Zion has missed 10 straight games, and 19 games this season, but that's his M.O.
Haven’t they been without their 2 best players forever?

did you notice I mentioned Zion missing 10 straight games?

and I'm sorry but Zion and Ingram missing games should be baked into the expectations for New Orleans. Zion is an injury waiting to happen; he's played in 114 games and missed 160. And Ingram has only averaged 58 games over the last 5 seasons and has already missed 34 this season. A matched pair of injury magnets. The Pels need AD back at C to keep all the orthopedic surgeons in New Orleans happy

Yeah, not sure what all that was about. Simply, there slide has coincided with their two best players being out.

they are only 9-6 with Ingram, and 17-16 without him; and were only 11-8 when he got injured. But at that 19 game mark, the Pels had played 9 at home and 10 on the road. When the Pels got hot coincided with when they started a long stretch of mostly home games. 12 out of 15 at home was part of stretch that had a 17/7 home/road split. They have a 9-15 road record (Portland has a 10-15 road record) Looks like they miss home-cooking as much as they miss Zion

and as I said, gauging the pels by how they play with Zion and Ingram is not very realistic. Zion has missed 160 games in 4 seasons; Ingram 135 games in 6 seasons

Hella sad. Seems like we are happy being a first round team. Sell out arenas and keep fans on that hopeium

Something Wiz and I can agree about ... injuries (or being able to withstand them) are part of a player's ability, at least in some cases.

It might be a guy's frame can't handle the stress his body puts on it. It might be that he just doesn't have a high tolerance for playing through stuff. It might be that the injury he sustained was major and could be expected to impact his athletic ability or limit his style of play.

Anyway, relying on a guy who has a proven history of missing a lot of action needs to be baked in when considering their team's chances, because you can't just presume they're going to make their team better by being there healthy when they're never there healthy, just like a streaky shooter or a guy who doesn't rebound -- it's part of the player they are.

In the context that the NBA would make Billions off a 7 game series between the two.
NBA had 2006 and 2020 to match them in a playoff series. In 06, Lakers blew 3-1 lead. In 2020, Clips blew the 3-1 lead. NBA could’ve fixed those series if they cared about it.

Ben Simmons in Philly. Hasn’t taken a shot in 11 minutes of play so far.

I would love to see Orlando in the play-in. They have a fun roster (Bamba, Bol, Fultz, etc) esp with Isaac back. Go Magic.

Steph ejected?? whoa never thought I would see that. That is a good rivalry---GSW and MEM. Dont know why it is a rivalry but it seems to be.

Grizzlies knocked Warriors out of play-in in 2021. Warriors beat Grizzlies in playoffs in 2022.
