Just read a poll ranking NBA owners and they had Jody at 13th out of 30....putting the Blazers in the top half of the league....worst owner at 30th...Dolan with the Knicks

Why? I thought she's not a good "owner" and should sell the team asap.

I applaud her for showing up at the games. There was an article published last Nov saying that the decision to keep Pete Carroll and trade Russell Wilson was ultimately and actively her call. I wonder if she's as involved with the Dame sitiuation as well.

Michael Jordan must have been near the bottom too.

I have no doubt she's involved in every aspect of the FO

I never suspected her to be that. I don't think she was passionate about football/basketball before assuming trustee responsibilities. Credit to her for not delegating the big decisions. I do hope the eventual buyer of our team won't move our one and only pro team. That must be a condition of the sale

watching that video and seeing how many plays were set up by Watford's playmaking and I still can't see any good reason why Watford was waived

Well, we got rid of all three guys who were good at throwing lobs to him. Hart, Payton and Watford. I was disappointed that we got rid of Wat but that was before Dame asked out.

I wouldn't be surprised if we brought Watford back once things get figured out with Dame, but I suspect that we need the roster spots right now.

with all due respect...can you just fuck off with these idiotic useless robotic dumbshit posts?

I must admit, I've been genuinely perplexed by the phrase "robotic dumbshit." It's not every day that such an unusual combination of words comes up. At first glance, it seems like an insult, a way of demeaning or belittling someone or something that might be behaving foolishly or making mistakes, much like a robot.

But as I ponder it further, I wonder if there's a deeper meaning behind it. Could it be a metaphor for human behavior? Are we sometimes guilty of acting like "robotic dumbshit" when we mindlessly go through the motions without truly understanding our actions? Perhaps it serves as a reminder to stay mindful and engaged in our choices and decisions. In any case, the phrase causes me to think about the importance of maintaining our humanity amidst an increasingly automated world. Perhaps it's not just a playful joke, but an earnest call for introspection and self-awareness.

The longer he goes without getting signed, the more I get my hopes up that he'll return.

But we drafted the best guy to throw lobs to him.

The life of an NBA player must be tough lol

if you made $75,000/year, it would only take you 4,053 years to earn the same amount as Jaylen Brown's new contract

if you made $125,000/year, it would only take you 2,453 years to earn the same amount as Jaylen Brown's new contract

I know people hate Stephen A, but this is hilarious... He RAILS on Paul George and Kawhi Leonard.

The work they put in to become one of the 450 basketball players in the world is hard. I think they earn every cent.

No harder than that of the elites in most other sports who are paid a tiny fraction as much as NBA'ers.

oh for chrissakes....GTFO

"earn" is not a merit based term. It's just a simple descriptive. They are paid these millions, so they obviously earn them. There's no gauge other than the number on the paycheck

do they deserve that much money for what they do compared to everybody else? FUCK NO THEY DON'T

if you have a leaking pipe in your ceiling tell me if Russell Westbrook is worth 500 times more than a plumber. If your 12 year old daughter's appendix bursts on a camping trip, try and say that Kyrie Irving is worth 500 times more than a paramedic or that Stephen Curry is worth 400 times more than the nearest surgeon

I don't really care how much money these guys make, I have no skin in the game. But I'm sure not so blind to suggest the salaries aren't insanely excessive, because they sure as hell are

It actually comes down to specialization and demand. These guys do something that is in demand and they do it better than anyone else on earth. It is not necessary for our society to function so I see why you would ascribe more worth to a plumber or even more worth than that to a first responder, or even more to a surgeon that save lives at the most complex of levels. That being said there are just far more people capable of doing those things at acceptable levels, even at levels of excellence.

There are just under a hundred athletes that actually have a net worth of one hundred million dollars. There are over twenty-four thousand people in the world with a net worth of at least one hundred million dollars.

Wealth disparity at the level we have it in this global economy makes me sick but the representation of athletics and other forms of entertainment in that system isn't close to as sickening for me because most people really find joy and therefore extreme value in the highest levels of entertainment.

I think they deserve them too. NBA makes a lot of money. They deserve their share.

“Deserve” is a word that implies that a person’s income should be based on the value of a their contribution to societal needs. Obviously, that’s not the way it works with respect to high income earners. Their salaries are based on how much money they can make for the owners of the company they work for. Suit up plumbers or emergency workers to play in the NBA and nobody is going to pay to see the games or watch broadcasts of them. Even journeymen NBA players are highly skilled at their craft compared with average citizens. Those guys make good money for the few years that they’re good enough to play at an NBA level, but far less than the stars who actually have the athletic brilliance to make a difference in who wins or loses and who amaze and entertain the fans. They “deserve” the crazy salaries they make because they make the league massive amounts of money. And, if somehow the money they make could be reduced to a more pedestrian level, I don’t see any social benefit in the billionaire owners pocketing the saved money.

Mark Jackson and Van Gundy out at ESPN replaced by Doris Burke and Doc Rivers. Not sure I will miss either of them.
