If Scoot/Shae/DC/??? works out in 2029 The Blazers do not need 3 FRPs in 2029, so I am taking it out of the equation.
That's like saying the Celtics didn't need both Tatum and Brown since they already had a playoff team.

I can't imagine any rational Blazer fans would pick Avdija with how he and the Blazers have looked so far. Of course Knecht has been even better than average expectations too.

I'm sure we'll get a couple who post they prefer Avdija, they're likely the posters that always support 100% of Blazers actions as though that makes them better fans or the team better or such.

Edit or they just want to be a contrarian such as Rasta.
To be fair, Rasta was also vehemently anti-Knecht pre-draft. This isn't him being contrarian; it's him refusing to admit he might have been wrong.

No way to know how well Knecht would play as part of this roster, or how much better Avdija would look alongside Lebron/AD. I like Avdija's defense and playmaking, even if his shot hasn't been falling.

But yeah, it's hard to deny that Knecht4 has been pretty impressive, and it's hard to argue that Deni is worth him+picks.

Nope, Since Sharpe was drafted in 2022 and JB in 2016, that's like saying that the Celtics first round draft pick in 2023 is not that important for the JB/JT Celtics. For the record, the Celtics had no FRP in 2023. The Blazers, even after this trade, will have 2. As I said, not-relevant.

even though the last draft was a bad draft, history just about guaranteed there would be 2 or 3 players outside of the lottery that would have 'starting level' or 6th man talent. There almost always is. Right now, those two guys appear to be McCain & Knecht. Jaylen Wells might be another. Still very early though

speaking of way early, and in the interests of generating a food fight, would you rather Portland have:

Avdija

or

Knecht + that 2nd best 2029 1st + Blazer's 2028 & 2030 second's?

Womp womp

I'm sure Knecht will be at least as good as other hyped Lakers-rookies-who-were-teammates-with-LBJ like Talen Horton-Tucker

Randomly--I was just looking at the season-by-season leaders/awards index, and I think Omer Asik and Greivis Vasquez being league rebound/assist leaders in 2012-13 may be one of the most surprising and unexpected things I feel like I should have known.
I never would've guessed that if someone let me try 1000 times. That was Dame's rookie year.

Most the other leaders are people you'd expect, although 1998 had Rod Strickland for assists.

2001 Jerry Stackhouse for points.

Yes, he's the best player on the planet, and the gap from him to the next is just silly. However much he gets talked about, it's not enough.
The most amazing stat is his on-court/off-court differential:

What's up with the Pacers after looking so promising last year in the playoffs?
6-9 and got beat badly by the Rockets tonight

by the way, in a comparison between Knecht and Avdija, one thing to keep in mind:

Avdija is only 3 months older than Knecht

That injury report is misleading. Their top 7 guys have all played around 14-15 games.....except for Nemnhard. (Only 7 )
He has turned out to be a pretty good 2nd round pick.

Still, this starting lineup should not have been blown out last night. Not when Quenton Jackson goes 10-12 and McConnell off the bench goes 8-12. I assume they will turn it around though.

Pascal Siakam
Myles Turner
Tyrese Haliburton
Bennedict Mathurin
Quenton Jackson

no argument

I think last season the Pacers, in the playoffs especially, just caught lightning in a bottle. Their success was was much better than their talent. Yeah, they probably should be better than their 6-9 record, but lots of pretty good teams have had poor starts

Two all-NBA players plus Turner, Mathurin, and Nemgard is a lot of talent. It must be their lack of D.
They could use a defensive center. (maybe Robert Williams if he stays healthy until Feb?)

Swap for Jarace Walker?

A movie about his life getting to the league would be amazing. I shared the video on here while I was in Paris this past summer. I have video of him celebrating with his teammates right outside my hotel room window at a restaurant after they wrapped up the Bronze medal I believe. He was TANKED up there getting his medal that night! HA!

I am not sure Indiana would want to do that so a pick would be fine with me.
He measures 6'6.5 in bare feet with a 7'2 wing span (235 lbs)
Is he better than Camara? I think Camara is a better-wing defender.

Gotta match salaries somehow. No interest in Nesmith. They certainly wouldn't offer Mathurin. Jackson's not enough. Walker's their only match.
