Yes, we'd still get hard capped but that would become a possibility. Although we'd have to assume the team would be willing to pay the tax because they might not want to in that scenario. If Nurk signs QO, and we let Ed Davis walk, does that open up the bigger MLE for Blazers? If so that would gives us the chance to sign a wing we desperately need such as Hezonja...
And Swanigan.
LeBron James has indicated that family considerations will play a big role in his free agency decision. Stein (same piece) can envision James choosing the Lakers with a belief that President of Basketball Operations Magic Johnson can assist him and his family with their off-court needs.
New OrleansNo joke, who is going to sign cousins?
Tyler Ulis cut, Payton, and Len, too.
So, Dwight Howard and Trevor Ariza are both keen to join the Warriors for a year.
fuck this league.
All indications on twitter are that PG agrees to a deal with OKC tonight.
Does this:
sound like a potential salary cap violation to anyone else?
Broken effing record.I am ashamed for imagining that Olshey would ever make a trade. I beg for everyone to forgive me. I will try to control my wild imagination, and promise that it won't happen again.
But you were compaigning for trading Nurkic for DeAndre Jordan at the trade deadline, whos turning 30, whos game is much more athleticism based so it'll decline a few years earlier than Lee and Chandler, who was already declining, who will get overpayed this summer, and who wed actually had to have given up a legit asset for.None of those 3 players is worth paying 3x their salary in luxury tax... Blazers do not win a playoff series keeping same roster + one of those 3 guys... also, Courtney Lee will be 33 next season, so his game will start to decline... and Chandler will be 32
Encouraging. All indications on twitter are that PG agrees to a deal with OKC tonight.
So you were losing your shit over rumors of trading for DeAndre Jordan because you think he is too old at 30, then you want the Blazers to use the TPE, which essentially pays triple the salary for a team over the luxury line, for a 33 year old that averaged 12 points for a 28 win team... you just can’t make this stuff up hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! But you were compaigning for trading Nurkic for DeAndre Jordan at the trade deadline, whos turning 30, whos game is much more athleticism based so it'll decline a few years earlier than Lee and Chandler, who was already declining, who will get overpayed this summer, and who wed actually had to have given up a legit asset for.
I don't think either of those guys make the Warriors any better on any level. Howard is known to make teams worse and Ariza has missed his last 3 million three point shots. So, Dwight Howard and Trevor Ariza are both keen to join the Warriors for a year.

30 for a player who's game is based off athleticism is older than a 33yo who's game isn't based off athleticism.

You wanted to pay even more money than the TPE for DeAndre Jordan AND give up Nurk in the process.
You're DESPERATE for big names.
How is Lee going to make us go into more purgatory? His contract expires in 2020 with our other big contracts, and we'll have cap space then. Until then, who cares what were paying? We'll never have cap space until 2020. Lee is a big improvement over Connaughton. You don't take defense into account and if it's not a big name then there's no point to even add them to the roster for nothing. No, I’m deperate go a major shakeup to a roster that just isn’t working... you on the other hand want to double down on purgatory by adding even more salary for players that don’t move the needle and have no upside
