not on X so can't see the results

I also am old enough to remember when X=Pornhub instead of X=Twitter

I'm a member of 2 Duck message boards and from what I see, it's about 60-65% of Duck fans opposed, so I ain't buying that twitter poll

to be fair, quite a few of the people opposed are pissed off about losing a home game in favor of going to Reser. Not happy with Oregon losing 7-9M in revenue from the TT game. There's been a lot of mention about the schedule UW wrangled from WSU and wondering why the Ducks didn't demand the same

but a lot of the opposition is against a home-and-home with a G5 program; about how there's no upside for Oregon and no downside for OSU

The eye test. I watched him play. I don’t see someone who is in command. He’s the QB so he needs to look like he’s the head honcho. I don’t see it.
Oregon State could use a quarterback with Ty's arm. It would be a good opportunity for him to improve with a lot less pressure on him. Of course, he'd enter the portal once he gets his legs under him, but that's how the game is played these days.

Yeah, I know. Not happening.

I think Twitter is a better representation of the average fan than dedicated boards are. Forums like this one for the Blazers or the boards you mention for the Ducks are typically going to consist of more hardcore fans. The opinion dichotomy you describe doesn't surprise me at all.

you could be right....but you get a demerit for saying dichotomy in a sports forum. This isn't Oxford

Vocal minority can be the loudest.

My real life interations with both fan bases has it about 80/20 in favor of playing, but that doesn't mean that's the reality. Though now that I look at the poll, it's also 80/20, so maybe it is closer to that.

Does it usually take a long time for guys to pick the team to transfer to?

depends

Gabriel is supposedly going to visit Oregon this week (may already be in Eugene), and has said he will probably need a couple of weeks to decide

On3 is tracking 1193 players in the portal right now and only 20 have picked a destination

so far, officially, Oregon has made offers to 4 portal entries:

* Dillon Gabriel
* Clemson Safety Andrew Makuba
* Beaver CB Jermod McCoy
* MissSt. WR Zavion Thomas

rumor of several more inquiries and potential offers. I think the Ducks were feeling they were set on the DLine, especially edge, but there have been several entries of very talented and established players and I think that may be changing plans a bit

complicating the scene is that Oregon is well over the scholarship limit with the big incoming class they have. And that's it's unclear how many Ducks will declare for the draft

Hey…. I’m the guy who’s always asking how we’re gonna fit all these new guys. You trying to steal my job?

lol...

The next team to start a season with too many scholarship players will be the first. The art of processing if undefeated.

Usually they have visits this weekend and next weekend. Then there is a dead period and they can visit again from Jan 3rd(?) to 7th, so realistically most will probably commit by next weekend(ish) as the 3rd-7th isn’t the best window.

Cam Ward bidding supposedly starts at $2mm
This is where I wish there were some sort of reporting requirements. Impossible to verify the dollar amount that is leaked is real or a negoiciating tactic to get more money.

$2m seems reasonable though.

Obviously they may be in a good spot after all is said and done. Hopefully they can get a couple big moves and clean house.

Word is Marvin Harrison jr might be staying at Ohio St because the NIL money might be better than top pick money
