The thing is Saban left because he was fed up with college footballs new directions with regards to Portal, NIL. etc. I believe he see's that he will no longer have the huge advantage he once had. When College football was college football.
In an interview tonight he said he could no longer promise recruits he'd be there 3-5 years and that he didn't have the energy to do things the way he had in the past and feels he'd need to do moving forward. Said his healthy and his wife's health is good.

I’m torn on him leaving. He was a mediocre recruiter and he was about to lose most of his starters. I think next year they were gonna drop off a lot. What if they replace him with someone who can recruit?

Their Brand will still suck!

I’m sorry Nate I just couldn’t resist.

by rule, starting today there is a 30 day transfer portal for any Washington player that wants to leave. Pretty sure that the high school players who signed LOI in December and rescind their LOI's as well

going to be more dark days this month for the dawgs....happy hour for Duck fans

Oregon’s got to be the favorite to win the B1G next year right? With Harbaugh likely leaving, DeBoer out etc

Washington's athletic department is broke and their NIL programs are weak. MSU AD has lots of money and their NIL game is better than UW

I heard that Washington was trying to put an offer together that would’ve made him the highest paid coach

Brb, lemme look at who the Ducks were recruiting that ended up with UW

Also, who Alabama recruited that had ties to the Ducks as well

My fear….. UW steals Fisch from Zona.

they will probably go after him, but he might be a tough pull. He's got a talented roster at Arizona with his kind of players. Washington's cupboard is pretty empty now and getting emptier. And Fisch sure seems to be a better match for the Big-12 than the Big-10. A much easier path to the playoffs in the Big-12

Might be an opportunity for Fisch to leverage Arizona for more cheddar.

This is 2024. Those players will just transfer with him. Ha!

After going through their recruiting class it looks pretty weak and I can’t believe that we didn’t lose any players to them. They lost a few recruits to us though

DeBoer couldn't recruit to Washington. What they did was not sustainable.

Oh I know. I was just having a conversation with my dad about that. This years version of the Huskies was littered with 5th and 6th year seniors. One of the most experienced teams in the country.

Because they knew this year they’d have a shot

And that’s why I think he wanted out, aside from the fact it was Bama, but he knew the team was shit.
