I also heard that every team who lost out on a recruit says its because the other team gave them the bag.I've heard that Mississippi, Mizzou, and Oregon are handing out "crazy" NIL deals
Can't recall Oregon holding all their commits in the last week before signing day. I'm sure today didn't go "perfect" for Lanning and Co. but it has to be the next closest thing! So we didn't lose a single commit today, and actually flipped a couple.
Gresham, McLellan and Pellum is an insane haul at WR.

That’s not what I said.is it the same person that told you Stanford would get into the Big-10 before Oregon?
Not a kid I would want. He will transfer in a year.Jordan Seaton is milking this for all it’s worth lol
what I've been told by someone who would know:
* 'Oregon might be in the top-10 in NIL spending; but also might not. Several SEC teams and the Florida schools likely spend more. So do 2 or 3 Big-10 teams. Oregon could be the biggest spender on the west coast, but USC spends just about as much (contrary to their claims) and Colorado spends more in the portal, or at least did last year. And that Oregon has a budget, makes an offer, and is not inclined to go over their number or to haggle with players, agents, or families'
* 'Phil Knight is still rather reluctant to get fully involved in NIL because he believes he'd have to get into auctions for the same players, the following year. He's not real fond of NIL or the transfer portal but he understands the realities'
* 'a lot of the numbers you hear thrown around about NIL deals made by Oregon are bullshit. A toxic combination of sour grapes and wild exaggeration.'

Can you really argue with this?
Yes. Yes it is. Not saying it isn’t a better deal for players and maybe even families of players. There is no question it’s different though. In the past players lost scholarships and even awards. Schools lost eligibility and were sanctioned. As many others stated in the comments, is that really any different than what it was before it was "allowed"?

Yes it’s very different.
Reggie Bush might disagree with you. Pete Carrol also.it’s just publicized now. Always been going on. Now schools don’t have to deal with the charades of it all. To believe it’s not always been a money grab like this is to be naive,
Can you really argue with this?
I've heard similar things from someone connected to Division Street.
Also, Phil and Division Street do not want him contributing 50% or more of the money in the collective because they believe it would subject them to scrutiny about the "collective" actually being a collective. They believe the University of Miami is going to potentially be in hot water for this reason.

Good point.I can. I think it is a lazy and ignorant statement by Fentress. Sure some teams might have jumped into the conversation because they bought players. Texas A&M did a couple of years ago...and it didn't work out well. But if you look at the top recruiting classes you will see coaches who have won (GA-AL) and ergo players want to play for them, or coaches who are relentless recruiters. (i.e Lanning and Mario)
Baylor has a shit load of money yet they ranked 67th this year in recruiting? Why is that?
Totally agree. I'm a fan of it. Just creating conversation. This is a reality now and it’s been legalized within college sports. Whether it’s fair or not is an issue people have to deal with themselves. But if you’re a school that has the ability to capitalize off of it they’d be stupid not to.
The more this kid talks, the less I want him on the team.

Seaton has made some interesting comments in the times he's spoken during the early signing period, saying in an interview with Hayes Fawcett that “Nowadays in sports, you want to maximize your platform" and that "It’s crazy how you can commit to a school and people want you more.”
On Tuesday morning, he posted a well-known meme that indicated his indecision to his account on X (formerly Twitter), sparking hundreds of replies from fans trying to convince him to sign with their school.
well, according to the main guy at the Duck On3 site, the Ducks are out of it by their own choice. Don't want to be involved with that guy
he also said, by the way, Oregon is still recruiting Walter Nolen but the odds are pretty low they convince him
