in less than 24 hours, it was all over the news that Lanning was the #1 candidate to replace Saban at Alabama...then Dan said, once again, he's staying at Oregon. I doubt Lanning, his agent, and Alabama had any substantive talks. But Lanning and Oregon got a massive amount of positive spin in this firestorm. For sure potential recruits have noticed all this

As others have relayed, multiple current Duck players have relayed they've been told by him he's staying. I've also read from the main guy at rivals that he has Nike stock options worth around 30M coming his way upon the completion of his current contract. Is Bama going to pay the 20M buyout and then cover that too?

If he does stay and continues to succeed here, we should expect his name will continue to pop up whenever high profile jobs open up in the south. Reporters need clicks.

Nice way to put it but there are also a bunch of reasons to go to what many feel is the most prestigious football program in the country. Thinking money is the only thing keeping him here is not making anyone feel better about this? You are talking about the chance to put your name with Bear Bryant and Nick Saban.
By the way I agree about raising your family here and of course the bugs. They got some crappy humidity there for sure.

The thing is Saban left because he was fed up with college footballs new directions with regards to Portal, NIL. etc. I believe he see's that he will no longer have the huge advantage he once had. When College football was college football.

Dan Lanning confirmed on ESPN's Pat McAfee show that he was watching the Jason Borne movie with his son last night and was not in Alabama.

Another good point. NIL has certainly changed the was things will look in the future.

Sure.

I guess the people who reported before the season this was Saban’s last year because of his wife’s health just got lucky
 
Stewart is likely to be their #1 threat on offense next year. He's similar to Troy Franklin in size and top end speed but more dynamic with quicker feet/better change of direction. His film is a pleasure to watch and imagine what will be.
