Ended up closer than I thought it would be when we were up 13-3 in the 3rd.

Great win though. Exciting!

I read it as yes needing to win 4 straight in the regional, yes going against #1 college Ace pitcher, but also having a brutal road schedule all year without a conference.

Another interesting thing is that 3 former pac12 teams have made the MCWS. UCLA, Arizona, Beavers.
I honestly did not know the Wildcats had been to the series 19 times. Pretty solid program. They have won four times and have been in the Championship a total of 8. They have been in the Tournament 44 times overall.

Its been the pac 8 for a bit. Gonzaga just doesn't have a football team, so they still need one more to have 8 football teams.

Sounds like they are closer to figuring out who that may be with the media deal finalized.

I was referencing the 70's PAC-8.
Thanks though for the info I was not keeping up real well. Was just going to wait until it all gets sorted out and then figure it out.
 
Super curious who the 8th football member will be.

On the one hand NM state makes sense as their probably more desperate to join, closer geographically, can be given smaller piece of the pie.

On the other hand getting TX ST or similar school would be a much bigger splash, bigger selling point, and could open the door for more Texas schools eventually. Likely would need to give them a bigger cut of revenue though.

Seems like the new Pac has blown through cash and been aggressive with moves - not playing it safe.

Excited to see what happens. Obviously living 40mins away I'm rooting for TX ST.

The Arizona schools were always good when I was younger. I always felt they had an unfair advantage with almost year round baseball weather

I think it has a huge chance of being Texas State.

A Memphis guy is adamant that Memphis needs to take it and jump ship.
 
Ive met the TX ST president a number of times. Can't imagine there's any way for me to ask him and get a hint.... Maybe close person I know that works at at TX St could try to ask him for work related reasons? Seems beyond a long shot he'd give any hint but worth a shot lol.

Would be exciting if Beavers start traveling here for games. It's a great area between Austin and San Antonio with a river to float down right on campus. Especially great for NW folks to travel to in cold/rainy seasons.
 
I mean technically New Mexico State would be closest Pac school to me if the join instead - but that's still a 9 hour drive.

Even though TX ST would be a lot of miles to travel the one good thing is there tons of airports between Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio so it's very easy to get nice and affordable flights. Compared to Las Cruces where NM ST is that only airport is 3 hours away in Albuquerque which is worse than all four of the TX airports.
 
Would Texas State have the most students of any Pac school? It's about 20th in the country but only like 7th biggest in Texas.

Kinda’ Beav related,….very close childhood friend of mine and former Beaver baseball player….. drafted in the 26th round of the MLB draft by the Mariners….. Chris Sturgeon, died yesterday.
50 years old, heart attack at work. Wife and 20 year old daughter left behind. Biggest Beaver fan I know and we didn’t hold that against him. #BAM

You just never know FAMS!

I'm playing in a golf tournament today so I'll unfortunately miss the first pitch. Hopefully the Beavs can keep the momentum going and start the series with a W!
