Minnesota could be scary in the future.

OKC is going to have to decide on giving Ibaka or Westbrook the max (or near max) deal under the new CBA.

If I were Minnesota I'd be making moves now to assure that there will be enough money to throw a huge deal at Ibaka.

Rubio/Love/Ibaka o0

Hmmm ... That's a nice front-court, but that Minny team seems kind of "wing challenged" I know they've got Johnson and Beasley, but there's just something about them that doesn't click for me. Whatever they do, they at least look like they'll be decent, especially with that coaching staff (Adelman, Porter, Bayno, etc.).

If Bynum keeps this up and stays healthy, Kobe is going to become a problem. The worst game of his career, today.

Andrew Bynum looks great but this is the perfect time to trade him, imo.

I would go after Dwight Howard hard with Bynum/Pau.

When Jabbar retired, they never won another championship until years later with Kobe and Shaq. He played superstar defense till the end, and it doesn't show in the stats. All the johnny-come-latelies talk about is his skyhook, but that was the least important part of his game.

Well no I'm not impressed by his Derek Fisher stats that said he was a role player.

You are aware we traded his rights to Dallas, right?

Yes, that's why I put it in the Around the NBA thread. I had been looking for new information about him and that's all I found.

Hawks haven't missed a beat after replacing Jamal with TMac.

That's a bit disconcerting.

It's the 4th quarter and the Wolves are shooting 68% against the San Antonio Spurs's defense.

Speaking of the Spurs, Manu broke a bone in his hand today. Out ~ 6 weeks.

He's their best player, so that's huge

T-Mac is more multi-talented than Crawford.

What's up with Wade, though? He seems to be a bit off in the early going. Not Russell Westbrook off, but 4-17 is pretty shitty, even with 10 assists.

Does it hurt us that Dallas just beat OKC fairly soundly? Or does it dent their confidence? Westbrook really can't hit a barn door at the moment. Harden is smooth, though.

I was going to propose we try to trade for Ridnour now that Minnesota is in love with Rubio, but they actually play them together a lot. That might change if/when Barea finally gets healthy.

I might eventually have to capitulate on the Kevin Love scoffing. He certainly does the most with what he has. He could so easily be John Brockman.

It doesn't look like he should be able to produce the way he does ... but damn, he just produces!!

Glad you're finally seeing the light. I knew he had a great NBA skillset for a big man when he was rookie. Now that he has a step-back jumper, he's becoming deadly.

He's lived up to the hype of being a high school prodigy.

McHale looks like a genius for acquiring him on draft day.

I don't understand how Love grabs so many rebounds when he's on the perimeter shooting threes. He and Blake Griffin are the fourth and third highest scoters in the league. If we don't win at a high clip, Aldridge will miss the All Star team again. Durant, Love, Griffin, and Dirk are all ahead of him in the forward category.

Never thought Id say this but im starting to think Love is better then LA

I'm not going to go that far. He's certainly a better rebounder and may be a better 3-point shooter (although I bet Aldridge is pretty good) but the next time Love warrants a double-team in the post will be the first, and Aldridge is a FAR better defender. Can you imagine asking Love to cover guards the way Aldridge is often asked to do? It would be hilarity.

I thought Bill Simmons had a great point in one of his podcasts last year on the subject. "Rebounding is just geometry" (really though, it's vector calculus  ). Some guys just see the ball in the air and know how it's going to come off the rim and know where to put themselves to corral it before anybody else does. Jason Kidd did this for years as a guard, frequently getting double digit rebounds by just going to the top of the key and waiting for the ball to come to him.

in a lot of situations where LMA would be helping on D, Love just gets into rebounding position rather than help.

Sometimes it's better not to overhelp. Aldridge does that sometimes and gives up some rebounds. It's give and take.

Bynum: 21 pts 22 rebs 3 blks

Lowry: 20 pts 10 rebs 9 ast.

Monster numbers.

Manu out 6 weeks for SA.
ZBo out 8 weeks for MEM.

DAL looks lost for the most part.

West is right there for the taking. Gotta stay healthy now. (knock on wood)

wow.... we really could be 2 seed!!!!

might be between lakers blazers and nuggets.

spurs, grizz, and mavs are in trouble
