Maybe it's time to move this thread to OT?
why, because I asked if the woman doesn't want to prosecute, should Oden be prosecuted?

I cant help but think that the Oden story has a sad ending. Maybe it's best for him to leave basketball anyways. Did he finish his degree yet
LOL
I remember the younger days when a young Oden assumed if the NBA didn't pan out, why, he'd become a dentist! As if just anybody can become a dentist.
if the dick doesnt fit, you must acquit
True that no one chooses to be an alcoholic, if that is what Oden is. (None of us are in a position to make that determination.)
But you know what I think is the saddest and most outrageous thing? If Oden could still play, some team would be signing him and talking about how he made a bad mistake. Or even a terrible mistake. Or how he had learned from his mistake. Because when you can play, assaulting a woman isn't a crime, it's a mistake. Like dropping a pass out of bounds.
He's only done in the NBA because he really can't play and, with so little possible value, not worth the bad PR to a team.
I don't hate Oden because frankly he's not worth it. I cheered for him, then wished him well, now I just wish he'd grow the fuck up and go the hell away.
Nobody here or anywhere I've read has marginalized assaulting a woman so I'm not sure why your inventing this perception.True that no one chooses to be an alcoholic, if that is what Oden is. (None of us are in a position to make that determination.)

Where am I getting it from?
Ray Rice, 2 game suspension, team talked about his "terrible mistake".
Ruben Patterson, pled guilty to rape, signed by Blazers, talked about learning from his "mistake".
Lawrence Philips, college player drags his girlfriend down stairs by her hair, drafted in NFL, signed by several teams who talked about his "mistake" until it was realized he could not play at NFL level.
Kobe Bryant, apologizing for his "mistake".
That's where I get it from. It stops being a "mistake" when he can't play.

Looking at a few Miami forums apparently Oden's drinking was an issue with the Heat. The radio guy saw a few incidents himself.
Juice Skolnick was just a guest on The Ticket. He mentioned there was some concern Oden’s drinking issues may have surfaced again this season, which possibly had the organization concerned.
Said he witnessed a couple of things himself during the year.
Juice seems to be a writer for BleacherReport. Not sure if that is the most credible source.
I blame Obama
