And for the record, who among us would ever think of Z-Bo as a lockdown defender? Crazy. He has flat out shut down LA.

He could never have become this kind of player here in Portland. He had to get passed around like a pack of smokes to turn his life and his game around.

I don't think this was as much Z-Bo as it was LA not being on and not adjusting his game. He has too much for Randolph to guard in every respect, but, when he settles, then Z-Bo looks good.

As a Blazer the refs would never let him grab and push and bump and tug all the time.

Well... can't say the guys rolled over. They showed heart. I guess there's that. Will it be enough to keep LA in town? Maybe not. is body language was very telling tonight.... he's separating. He's holding himself back from full investment. That doesn't mean he's not giving 100% effort on the court... he just looks detached. CJ is fools gold. He's garbage time. Meyers, though... that guy has a future. Puts on a little weight and more muscle, he could be a force... maybe the Sabonis comparison isn't so far fetched. Sabas had freakish athleticism when he was young.

Game 5 probably will be the end. Sad. With Wes, this team might have made noise. But something in Lillard snapped around the ASB, and he hasn't been the same player since.

Lopez looks lost. Is he hurt?

Batum... I can't even. Superstar one night, scrub the next. Hell, different halves.

*SIGH*
Pure buzzkill

It's going to be interesting to see what happens with Rolo this offseason with Meyers looking good. I know it's just one series, but his value has to have taken a hit.

Rolo had had a noticeable drop off is his stats this season. He's on the decline, so there's no risk of him getting massively paid. I think he gets 7.5 million for 3 years. And I think that will be overpaying.

What do I do with this?

Go have Mexican or Indian food and let nature take its course.

Yeah, I saw that too. He wasn't part of Dame's huddle in the closing minutes, he froze Nic out at the free throw line, he's mentally checked out.

Let's not forget, CJ saved this team tonight when they were searching for any sort of answer on offense. His drives were clutch and 3 pointers were all net. That was no fluke.

I saw him whisper "Portland isn't good for young rich black men" and then he smoked some weed out of a soda can.

You know, Gasol gets a ton of love but after seeing him play in a series he is kind of an awkward player. Lots of airballs and fades. I thought he was an elite low post guy with the ability to shoot. Leonard shut him down.

As well as Meyers shot in the first half and hit the boards throughout, I liked the way he played defensively in the low post against Gasol down the stretch. He fought hard for position, and, while Gasol scored a couple of times, Meyers made him work and go to secondary moves, and he didn't foul. How he develops on the defensive end, IMO, ultimately will determine whether he becomes a starter or a journeyman 5 in this league.

I'm a realist. A Blazer fan for 40+ years is allowed that.
I would say time to get the eyes checked. CJ is no Lillard (who is?) but he is 6th man of the year material as soon as next year. He will win it by year 5 if he stays in this role imo.

His very first play of the game he guarded Marc in the post, forced the miss, grabbed the rebound, outletted to CJ for the fast break. And it just got better from there! Very fun to watch him begin to break out!

Gasol ended up 3-9 or 3-10 against Leonard tonight (I lost count of attempts but remembered the makes) and hit two FT's.

We desperately needed a player aside from Dame that can slash in the starting lineup. Wes and Batum have no first step and it a big reason we have long scoring droughts. I think the knock on him is he's a little small. He'll win out the starting role from post-injury Wes before next season starts.

I think CJ should stay on the bench to solidify production from that area. He can still play more minutes than the starter. Basically a Manu role.

Meyers has learned to get down in the stance on defense like Wes does..great to see

He was burly down low! The first time Marc tried to go at him he bounced right off; Meyers didn't budge at all. It surprised Gasol!
