They showed a stat before the game. The Spurs contest 75% of our shots. The Rockets contested at most 52%. The Spurs are not allowing us to shoot open jumpers.

We made one change: going under screens for Parker. It was mostly effective except when the refs let Duncan set illegal screens to give Parker room to shoot uncontested. When he was contested Parker only made like 1 shot.

The part that pisses me off the most is batum came out finally playing like a man and everyone else crawls under a rock and hides.

Stotts started Batum on Parker instead of Lillard and Parker started shooting 1 of 5. That was a single meaningful adjustment.

Don't worry guys, if we play okc in the wcf, the refs will hose us too. It's worse then because we're better than OKC, while Portland isn't better than us even without some bad calls.

Also you guys are gonna get some good homecooking in Portland.

Then if they are over playing it that much then shouldn't that be an easy adjustment?

You're wrong. Sorry. The refs are playing a huge role in this. They aren't calling any fouls when we go into the paint. They're allowing San Antonio to hack the shit out of us and then do whatever they want on offense.

In a fair fight, the Spurs probably beat the Blazers. I just want to watch a fair fight. The Spurs don't need the refs help. But they are getting it. Why?

LMA has shit the bed - two first halves in a row.
All I can hope is that this is a reversal of the HOU series and he has FOUR historic performances in him starting in G3.

It's both. SA is doing the exact same stuff they always do. Nothing special from Pop other than he has his team prepared. The refs are piling on and making it harder. And we fuck ourselves with bad turnovers and some spotty effort on the boards.

No we won't. Go back and look at the personal fouls and the FTA agains the Rockets. We never attempted more FTA at home. In most cases the Rockets attempted 10+ more free throws than us on our own floor.

hats off to the Spurs for their magnificent shooting and overall offense in the 1st half, but... Holy Fucking Shit on the swallowing of the whistles on the other end. The Blazers took it to the hole the entire 1st half and the fouls were constant and not subtle. Physical play is one thing but cracks across the shooter's wrists & body contact that changes a driving players course mid flight are fouls. 3 minutes left in the 2nd quarter they had 3 fouls total.

Parker has had open hots all game in the mid-range

They're just not falling

The Blazers are putting absolutely zero pressure on the Spurs right now. It's all terrible defense.

I don't know if Stotts' job is safe if this trend continues. These are fundamental breakdowns and non-adjustments that should be made.

im so exicted that the spurs come to germany in october and playing against alba here in berlin.. I buy a ticket for this match. well it looks like they are the next NBA Champions and come down to germany in october right now.. holy shit :D

Couldn't say it better bro. Seriously, that's what's frustrating me. It's such a huge advantage when you are allowed to hack, when taking away the perimeter shot

Eh - maybe a couple of missed calls. The fouls you're hoping for are weak at best - this is the Playoffs. We're just choking at the rim. If you can't play through a few bumps you don't belong in the Playoffs.
