Who is the better coach?

  • Total voters
    56
  • Poll closed .
The playoffs have been erratic. There is a lack of consistency primarily due to fg&3pt %.
Sixers, Bucks & Blazers all win game two and take HCA.
I think its easier now to win away from home because the game is so swayed by fg%.

I know you hate the guy, but Terry is a much much much much better coach than McHale. You seem to forget 2014 when he had Kevin totally bamboozled.
i included the winky face to show the joke. McHale is a fucking joke, for sure. But that quote...it was just so very Terry. I would absolutely NOT be in favor of replacing Terry with McHale.

I think those coaches are really close. It's really hard to pick one I keep going back and forth lol.

This poll question is being asked far too early.

Gotta agree. Have people already forgotten that Denver finished ahead of the Blazers? (without the benefit of a leader like Dame) This series isn't over yet.

BTW, am I the only one whose opinion of Jokic is going down after the last 2 games? The guy is a thug who benefits from absurdly favorable calls.

Yup, judging on the regular season Mike has done more with less than Terry. And while DEN hasn't been able to hit their shots, their offense looks better than ours. But I think we should win the series because we have superior talent.

Arguable.
I mean, sorta but not really. Do they have Dame? Argument over.

But to be a bit more serious...

Their best player is an all-offense no-defense Center. That right there is already a huge problem to have to deal with - you've built your offense around the player that should anchor your defense but can't.

Their best player is a slightly better version of our back-up (now starting) Center. (!) If that doesn't speak to the talent disparity I don't know what does.

A lot of people will take Jokic over Dame. He is a first team All NBA talent. And they have quite possibly the deepest roster in the league.

Well, a lot of people are fucking idiots.
And sure, I'd take their depth over ours, but top talent almost always beats depth.

Charles Barkley would argue with you. He says the Blazers have the best bench in the NBA>
Hahaha - right? I love Chuck. But he's either REALLY RIGHT or REALLY WRONG, there's no in between with him. This is a case of him being REALLY WRONG. However, we're not far away from having a good bench. Getting rid of Turner and a healthy Nurk gives us a pretty damn solid bench. But until Turner is gone he's going to drag that group down to being worse than they should otherwise be.

An important sub-plot here will be the refs. The networks obviously don't want the Blazers to win games 3&4. That means the League doesn't want us to win. With the games being in Portland, how far will the refs go in favoring Denver?

My prediction: one game they will keep it subtle and leave the door open for the Blaers to win if they are clearly better. The other game they will screw us into the ground and piss on our heads. It might be time to stop being polite and make the refs fearful of a riot!

I'm not so sure the NBA wants the Nuggets ahead of us. Who is a more marketable star, Dame or Jokic? Dames already a bigger name and that shot vs OKC as well as Dames demeanor and the come back from a horrific sweep is a GREAT storyline. Hell Denver didn't even sell out game 2 of the SECOND ROUND and Boo'd there fucken team up 1-0 when they couldn't hit shot in the 2nd quarter.

Unfortunately this is exactly what I expect.
Terry better use his technical a lot better than he did in the OKC series (what a pitifully stupid time to get a T that was!).

The ESPN broadcasters for this game will be:

Announcers: Dave Pasch (play-by-play), Doris Burke (analyst), Tom Rinaldi (reporter)

Thank god we don't have to listen to McHale for a game. But he'll be back for Game 4, supposedly.

I've called him over rated the whole time. I've been in the minority.

I hope you are correct.
