Awesome!

So they can beat the Warriors 4 times in a series ? Ok Jason

Yes, and they don't have to necessarily do that yet!

Lets' get nerdy: (Edited since I noticed I messed up calculations earlier.)

Portland has an estimated win probability of 55% at home and 30% away against Golden State

So the probability of home stand and take one from them : (0.55)^3*4*0.30*(0.7)^3*100%= 6.85%
Lose one at home but win 2 over there: (0.55)^2*0.45*3*(0.30)^2*(0.70)^2*6 =10.81%
Lose 2 at home win 3 away =2.52 %
Loss all home and win all away = 0.07%

So we have about 20.2% chance of making it to NBA finals if we were to be paired with Warriors.

Funny how our chances of advancing is actually higher than a Golden State sweep but people would believe that to be more likely and don't question as much.

Chances of Warriors sweep = 0.7^2*0.45^2*100%= 9.9%

Lose one at home but win 2 over there: (0.55)^2*0.45*(0.30)^2*6 =7.3 %
Lose 2 at home win 3 away =1.2 %
Loss all home and win all away = 0.07%

So we have about 28.5% chance of making it to NBA finals if we were to be paired with Warriors.

Chances of Warriors sweep = 0.7^2*0.3^2*100%= 9.9%
Is this why some posters come on here and call us Nerds?

An important sub-plot here will be the refs. The networks obviously don't want the Blazers to win games 3&4. That means the League doesn't want us to win. With the games being in Portland, how far will the refs go in favoring Denver?

My prediction: one game they will keep it subtle and leave the door open for the Blaers to win if they are clearly better. The other game they will screw us into the ground and piss on our heads. It might be time to stop being polite and make the refs fearful of a riot!
I was thinking the same thing earlier, and decided the best thing that can happen is for the fans to realize what's coming, and get on the refs early and often for their bullshit. I mean heavily on them. It might not keep them from fucking us over, and over, and over, but we have to at least let them know we see what they are doing, and it's not right.

Doris knows basketball, but she has that irritating voice. nothing against her, but drives me crazy. Hubbie Brown is great, always talks about basketball plays and what coaches do, adjustments etc. You can actually learn something.

TNT on the other hand has terrible announcers, McHale, Webber, Miller, just terrible.
I have nothing against Doris, but I HATE the Doris announcing team. They talk and talk and talk about what's not going on in the game, until I'm ready to shoot myself.

I agree with you on Doris, Knowledgeable but irritating voice. Don't hate her or enjoy her. (But I like her interviews)

As For Hubie Brown, yes he is also knowledgeable but IMO over talks. I don't need to learn something on every play. Yes I am embellishing a little but if he could just analyze the plays in less words. And maybe not be so quick to back the refs on everything. I mean for crying out loud the guy is 86 years old. He can't possibly see everything.
Hubie announces blind. He has for years.

I got you, 'Bert... my friend and I are sitting in Sec. 230, Row C, Seats 1 & 2.

Those poor bastards will be subjected to my verbal abuse ALL night long (like Lionel Richie)!

Wade Garrett was continually good.

Okay. I can understand why that seems unlikely. But remember. The Warriors have no answer for a scoring big like Kanter. Steph just dislocated his finger and is also nursing a bad ankle. Draymond i think has 3 T's already and i highly doubt he goes the rest of that series without another or even two?
All it takes is the Rockets pushing that series to 7 games and making it tough and the Blazers (If they can get by the Nuggets at all) have a punchers chance to win a game on the road.
Heck there isn't even a guarantee the Warriors beat the Rockets at this point.
Did you forget how the NBA refused to allow that douche bag to get another T a few years back, and he was absolutely unhinged because he could get away with anything and everything? And he did.

My suggestion is to only get on the refs when they have clearly fucked us. And do it loudly, first time and every time. Just haranguing the refs continually does nothing but piss them off.

But thanks. I appreciate you going to battle for the team.

I think what Kidd is saying is (1) don't sleep on the Blazers, and (2) The Blazers have as good or better chance of beating the Warriors than any other team in the NBA. Not that the Blazers would be favored, which they obviously would not be.

I concur with that.

It's a weird reaction some posters have? They are literally pissed off the team is doing well because they are all-in on Stotts must go! Fact is Stotts has always been good and his record shows that. He has constantly overachieved and he has done it through a complete rebuild.
The Blazers have been blessed to have him as their head coach.
The further and longer this team continues this year and next will cement his legacy here for years to come.
I know you think Stotts doesn't have much talent to work with but I could also make the argument that the team's success this year is more due to Dame taking yet another step in his evolution as a basketball player and the team being a little deeper than it has in the past. This isn't meant to bash Stotts but if the Blazers lose this series then the question marks are going to come right back up.

Does anyone listen to Chad Doing?

Can someone explain to me why he yells "SHOW ME YOUR BLAZER!"

I get wanting to have your own thing.... but this just doesn't make any sense to me, and it seems dumb and annoying when he screams it.

Here's my optimistic thought for tonight's game: I think as we see this series progress, our "supporting cast" (i.e. anyone other than Dame, CJ and Enes) are going to do more and play with increased confidence. They are going to start settling in and realizing they are every bit as good as the guys in the other jerseys. They aren't going to be as worried about taking an open shot they can make just because they think Dame can make an unbelievable one. We've begun to see that, and I think that attitude is going to grow, and, as it does, doubt is going to creep more and more into the Nuggets' minds. Other Blazers are going to hit big 3s or drive for dunks or take a charge that stops a Denver run. We've already begun to see it.

Whoever gets the ball on the first tip off wins the game. Simple as that.
