This extended playoff special helps us a bit.

Damnit, really wanted the Rockets.

Grizz in 6. :(

Can a mod ban another mod? Lol

Agreed. Love that it's on Sunday. Gives Afflalo an extra day to get right and should def be ready by Game 2 on Wednesday.

I like us in 6 games. We have 2 All Stars. We showed playoff toughness last year. Lillard has never lost in the first round. Can Grizzlies win the series? Sure but we have just as good of chance. Go Blazers!!

We still have better talent. Unlike against SA, I think we could have the coaching advantage.

I'm actually glad we get to grind out a first round with the Grizz now. Their starters are far from rested and we've got guys coming back. Was interesting to see Stotts sub Meyers at the 3 with LA and Freeland together. Rolo is the X factor. He's got to get back to the double double guy again.

They finished the season 5-3 and we finished 0-4. So I think we may lose in 4, so naturally I voted...

Blazers in 7!

You've been real friendly with Sly lately. He'll be your sis!

How do you know this. You must have been in there with him!

I picked Blazers in 6. I'm hoping for a repeat of last year, Blazers winning the series in thrilling fashion on their home court. Only this year, I have tickets to Game 6 in the 100 level. I'll be there with my daughter creating a memory to last a lifetime!

Go Blazers!!!!

We looked really bad these last three games. During the regular season we looked really bad against the Griz. However, Playoff season starts and Everybody has 0 wins. Time for a revival. Time for the Blazers to be motivated. Go Blazers. They should win the series and get an all expenses paid reward weekend in Myrtle Beach.

C'mon Blazers. New season and outlook. Take em down. Put Zack Randolph in a church pew.

Injuries: That there are only 2 games by next Wednesday would seem to help the Blazers recover from injuries. But the Grizz players will be more recovered and likely have everyone back while the Blazers will still be without Matthews, Afflalo and Wright while I expect CJ and Kaman to play from the start. Advantage Grizzlies.

Matchups: Portland has two advantages at PF and PG but they aren't large enough to counter act the dominate advantages the Grizzlies will have at the other positions. LA over Z-Bo but Zach will still get close to a 20/10 so it's not a huge win. Dame should have the edge over Conley although Dame needs to get his swagger back before Conley gets totally healthy. At C, Gasol is one of the top bigs in the game and will dominate Rolo. Jeff Green will show up every game while Nic will have 2 good games and sleep walk through the rest if you look at this season or even a larger sample, his entire career....sad. SG will be interesting as the Blazers will be going with their #3 option and for the Grizz, their SG is the #5 option in their offense no matter who is playing. If Afflalo can come back and CJ can produce, that might be a slight Blazer advantage.

Bench: A lot of that depends on if Afflalo and Wright make it back. Memphis doesn't have a great bench and most of that comes if Vince Carter turns back the clock or Koufos has a big rebounding night. Udrih has caused the Blazers problems because they give up the mid-range shot and that is his strength.

Style: Grizzlies seem build for the playoffs where the scores get lower, the pace gets slower, the foul calls happen less often and defense is at a premium. All of those things favor the Grizzlies and have in their matchup with the Blazers for the past couple of seasons. If both teams are close to healthy, (outside of Matthews) this could be a short series.

Projection: The Blazers just don't have an answer for Gasol who will be the series' biggest mismatch and counting on Nic to be the X-factor has been fool's gold for quite some time now. Outside of a historic miracle like Dame's shot last year.....Grizzlies.

If something is based in reality, how is it negative? I'm a huge Blazer homer but always bet with your wallet, not your heart. BlazersEdge has a great graphic showing how much Portland has performed below their norm against the Grizzlies and how Memphis has overperformed against Portland. Just not a good style matchup for the Blazers.

Why is everyone saying Marc Gasol is injured? 33pts and 13 rebounds 2 steals with 1 block in 38 minutes looks like a fine stat line to me. I'm sure Conley and Green will be fine to go as well. Just prepare for it because it wont be a walk in the park so to speak.

Easy series for the grizz. Good for them their probably super ecstatic to play us. Don't blame them

Go next u

My heart says Blazers in 6! My mind says Griz in 6. I usually vote with my heart, this time I voted with my mind.

Going by regular season performance, we're a bad matchup for the Spurs. Two of our games with Memphis were on the 2nd night of a back-to-back. Now we have time to gameplan specifically for them.
