I doubt a role-player at forward would stop them from acquiring the league leader in blocks whos averaging 16/14/3. They have a $11.8M TPE that they could us to find a replacement.

If Hassan was as good as the numbers show then suitors would be queing at Olshey's door. Not to mention that problem is mostly depth right now for them as KP's best position and the one he will close games with is at C. I doubt they will be closing important games with the duo of Hassan/KP as Hassan doesn't have the quick feet of Powell. So what I think is they will look for a C, but not one to lean heavily on unless that one is Drummond. They will most likely go for someone cheap and not part with another starter in the process. At least this is my assumption.

DFS has been very good btw and is the only legit SF they have.

Gibson? Hah. Dudes been awful this year. They need a big with size that can bang down low.

Ive noticed you tend to overrate the trade value of other teams players and underrate the trade value of ours.

unlike those that over simplify the ability to put together 3 or 4 team trades involving up to around 10 players? or those that constantly trash on players and then expect a big return for those players? :biglaugh:

Well let's wait first for the big report that Olshey was closing to getting a superstar, but he didn't feel ready to part with his "assets"

Simple solution. If his press conferences from Olshey bother you, don't listen to them. :dunno:

Powell could likely done for the season as he hurt his achilles last night.

I know, I didn't say they ll keep playing Powell. I said KP is not good next to a slow footed guy like Hassan. Powell was the C, but he didn't play like a traditional one, he was often the one chasing on the perimeter with KP protecting the rim.

Powell is a pf and was playing some c while Porzingis was out. I'm not saying Dallas would be willing to trade for Whiteside, but Porzingis is a unique talent that can easily play with an anchor like Whiteside. Collins was doing it and Porzingis is more athletic and mobile than Collins. I think Porzingis would be fine next to a player like Whiteside and that would be a lot of length.

I think we are doing Zach a disservice by playing him at PF, but I have to say Zach has great mobility for his size, one that KP doesn't match in my opinion. And is normal to me as KP is taller than Zach and heavier as well now that he put on some more muscle.

I guess our area of disagreement is in Porzingis athleticism and mobility. I see him as more athletic and more mobile than Collins. He's much more like Dirk than Collins is.

c'mon man...you've been pumping out a lot of trade ideas including plenty of Bazemore trades, and I'm pretty sure none of them were underrating Blazer assets as much as Bazemore + 2 picks for Ariza and Swanigan

As opposed to Blazer fans who can't understand why the Lakers wouldn't trade AD for a Little/Hoard/Swanigan package!

I have much more confidence in my knowledge of the CBA and trade market than yours.

Yeah, maybe it was one 2nd round pick. Doesnt really matters hypotheticals are discussed to explore the potential types of options out there for the team. Nobody is saying "this is certainly available" or anything like that.

That's not true.

Many playoff teams have an entrenched center, or don't have salaries to match Whiteside. Non-playoff teams aren't going to value Whiteside.

They play KP a ton at PF. They don't have to finish with Whiteside, but they definitely need a big like him to take their team to the next level. He doesn't have "quick-feet" but he's a rim protector and a great lob target for Luka. KP+HW is a ton of length in the frontcourt. They might not value him, but if they do, that's the deal to make on our end.

But if THJ is a deal-breaker, there's other stuff that works. I've heard multiple Mavericks fans say they'd do Wright, Lee, and GSWs 2020 2nd for Whiteside and Hezonja in a heartbeat. That'd get us under the tax IIRC. Then see if Minnesota wants to trade their 2nd and Dieng for Wright and Lee. Minnesota needs a PG, and would save $7M next off-season.

If this was available, I'd do it, and it seems like it makes sense for the teams involved. Whiteside+Hezonja for Dieng and GSW & MIN 2020 2nds is perfect for us. Gets us under the tax too, and creates a $10M+ TPE. Sign me up.

Lmao, all it takes is a little reading and sites have trade machines that can pretty much do the trade for you. Knowing the CBA has nothing to do with making a 3 or 4 team trade involving 8-10 players easier. Pretty much anyone can do the math. No need to toot toot your horn. I don't think anyone cares.

When was the last time I suggested a 4-team trade? I don't think I've suggested one all season. So it seems like you're just making up stuff to talk bitch about. Kinda weird for your age to do that over the internet towards someone a third your age, but you do you man.

If I did come up with a 4-team trade, it was only for the fun of it.

Relax.

Ah, and we can’t combine a player with Ariza till after the season.
We could work the Whiteside trade to Dallas in a way where they get Delon Wright (they need a PG), a 1st from us, and a 2nd from Dallas. Not sure if that would get it done or not but that's probably the best we can do.

I wonder if Boston could agree to something like this (added pieces for salary fit will be needed):

Portland: RoCo, Kanter

Minny: Smart, Portland picks

Boston: Whiteside

That's not close to working for Boston.
Sucks that Whiteside’s salary is so large, really hampers our trade possibilities. Cause I know teams like Boston, LAC, LAL, Dallas, etc. would love to add him but it’s so hard to match.
