The Yankees are receiving 2B Shed Long, LHP Reiver SanMartin and a 2019 Competitive Balance Pick in the Sonny Gray Trade.
 
The @Yankees announced today that they have acquired OF Josh Stowers from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for 2B Shed Long.
 
Danny Farquhar has signed a Minor League Deal with The Yankees he has recovered from a life threatening Brain Hemorrhage suffered early last Season while on The White Sox as per Jon Heyman.
 
Our old buddy Smiling Sonny Gray is now a member of the Cincinatti Ball Club. As Roy Clark once sang "thank God & Greyhound you're gone. The Reds extended Grays contract out to three years plus. Risky move by the Reds, if Gray doesn't get it together he could be in big trouble, I've heard their Park is a band box.
 
^^^^^Gray has the Yankee stigma off his back....I expect him to do well in the small market.
I would not be surprised. Yankees & their historic tradition was too much for him. I still
think Trashman got more than the guy was worth. I would have settled for two beers and a pizza!

great day for Yankee Fans with no sonny gray; great day....

as for the Reds', they're obviously not intent on winning a pennant soon; least not for a long time.

The Reds Ace: Homer Bailey 1-14 on the year, was part of a big trade allowing the Bums to eliminate Puig and Kemp; then the Bums turned around and released Bailey. A WTF Trade if there ever was one. Only GM more lost than Trashman would be- Nick Krall... kralldaddy...

Do you really think he was worth 2 Beers and a pizza??

Not one Beer, (a Lucky Lager green beer) and a half eaten Pizza out of a dumpster????
 
I expect Ottavino to (hopefully) make us forget about D-Rob....
Although Adam wasn't to spectacular in last yrs NLDS vs Milwaukee ....
 
Hall of Fame Announcements today. Byrnes was back on MLB Network ranting and raving about no one making the HOF until after Bonds & Clemens are in first. His reasoning they were the greatest players during his (Byrnes) playing days. No respect shown for todays possible entrants. Not a big fan of Verducci but I did like his reasoning for not selecting Bonds or Clemens. They argument that they'd have made the HOF based on numbers prior to usage does not hold water. Old John Q Citizen was living a clean life until he decided to rob that bank. Should he not be made to pay for his crime because he was clean before his mistake. Not a fan of "Mad Dog" either but got a huge chuckle when he got on Bryant and Longoria for crying over Harper not being signed. Both received alleged offers and passed so much for that. Everyday folks on job applications see a "salary expected" block on their applications. See what you get told should you place an amount larger than what the company wishes to pay. You'll experience "free agency" real quick. Some of these God Damn Players need to thank their lucky stars that they get what the get. And as Mad Dog told Longoria & Bryant it is the fans business, they pay the freight.

Leiter's one of very few ex-players in the booth, both YES and MLB-Tv whose worth listening too... Hate to see Al go.

My wife surprised me with a 2nd Honeymoon at Santa Barbara's Montecito Beach, at a great resort in an Oceanside Condo. That was the very 1st game Leiter Pitched in his young career, (Sept 15, 1987).
We no sooner got there; and I had to watch the game, a must for Yankee Fans. September 15th 1987 in Yankee Stadium, a 4-3 win vs the Brewers....

Leiter was billed from the start as the next (LH) Doc-K....

Tho' I've been a Barfield fan, I hated to see Leiter leave t/Bronx....

Leither was very good on his MLB Appearances as well, light years ahead of his former player contemporaries. As I have said before, David Cone used to be a pitcher, now he drinks them.

Didn’tthink he’d get 100% vote. The greatest reliever in my lifetime......maybe in baseball history and I got
to see him pitch in Yankee pinstripes. Congratulations, Mo.
 
With Gray finally dealt to Cincinnati, it is a sunny day in the Bronx once again even if it's covered in snow....


 
RHP Adam Ottavino has signed with The Yankees on a 3 Year Deal and will wear #0 first ever in Franchise History.
 
LA Dodgers land A.J. Pollock, formerly of Arizona. This falls under the category “The rich get richer”.
It’s a four year deal worth 55 mil. with a fifth yr option worth 10 mil.
