There are, but there also are anti-Cannons out there and there are some judge good judges.
Did you forget who wants to be dictator?

Not at all.
I think some Republicans might be realizing, though, that they might not be winners in a Trump dictatorship, either, and it's enough to keep him from having an easy time achieving it.
Trump's not only playing against the Dems right now. He's playing against a few moderate Republicans and the clock. He's showing signs of advanced age. The odds that he dies in office or declines cognitively to the point of removal is reasonably high. And he doesn't have the patience or focus to accomplish this with any nuance, and I don't think he's quite at the point where that succeeds.
All good points.
Well, hey, there's a lot of potential downside, but we can't really do anything about any of that. I just can't see myself walking through each day worrying about the end of everything. It'll get me someday, but I won't waste a day worrying about it.
Didn't vote for him in 16, 20 or 24 ... just because I didn't like Harris doesn't mean I voted for Trump. I think most people don't live in the hyper political world, they want to get up, get their kids off to school, go to work, make it home, enjoy the time they have with their families and get to the weekend for some fun. The president at the end of the day doesn't have nearly the power that most of you doomsayers are fretting over. Will Trump become our new dictator/overlord and destroy American life as we know it? I doubt it but this will be a fun thread to look back on in four years.I wish you were correct but it sounds just like another Trump voter trying to rationalize their vote. Others call it "whistling past the graveyard"....but keep telling yourself whatever you need to in order to get through the day.....
Donold Trump skewed the Supreme Court for at least a generation, if not longer. That simple fact alone has a seriously negative effect on this country. So please don't bring that "the president at the end of the day doesn't have nearly the power that most of (us) doomsayers are fretting over" into the discussion because it is flat out false. Trump blew through "guardrails" and rules that have existed for centuries and have been respected by most, if not all previous presidents. Those rules and guardrails are now worthless and the idiot continues to trash every rule that gets in his way. And NOBODY stops him. Is any of this breaking through? Trump is a clear and present danger. It's because "most people........want to enjoy the time they have with their families and get to the weekend for some fun". They either don't really give a shit or they are just plain oblivious. And that is why a Trump has air. Those same folks are oblivious to the runaway train that is barreling down the tracks at America. But please, enjoy your weekend.....it's good to have a goal.......Didn't vote for him in 16, 20 or 24 ... just because I didn't like Harris doesn't mean I voted for Trump. Basically, Dems don't play the game as hard as Republicans. They don't focus enough on the few things that could actually help the vast majority of their base the most because the people who keep the lights on make more money by not fixing those things.I've got to differ a little with you on this.
Trump ultimately pulled the trigger in destroying the character of the court, but he had help.
First, the U.S. people voted him in. Give an assist to Jill Stein, who continues to undermine left-wing candidates while pretending to be one.
And Mitch McConnell left a seat on the court vacant for a year to set precedent when the left would have had a 5-4 advantage, then he rushed to get through another conservative justice when Ruth Bader Ginsburg died.
RBG probably should have stepped aside earlier to let a younger left-leaning judge take her place, too.
Politics is a game and Trump/GOP play it harder than the DNC because in the end these people are serving a lot of the same special interest groups and the Right is more interested in getting their way while the Left is trying to look good and then when they publicly lose throwing their arms up in the air in some feigned disappointment. RBG could have stepped down at anytime under the Obama admin and given up her seat, she chose to ride it out to the very end of her life and it cost the Left her spot. Add in the sudden death of Alito in 2016 that no one saw coming, along with Trump winning and you get this situation. I'm all for term limits on Justices, just like I'm for term limits on Congress, but that's not the world we live in at the moment. We can speculate all we want but none of us have any real clue of what the next four years will bring, even if you see the worst of the worst happening.Donold Trump skewed the Supreme Court for at least a generation, if not longer. Gum rubbing assholes all of themDoing coke on camera?
Has anyone said: Supreme Court Justice Tucker Carlson yet?
Last Trump term I would've said that purely as a joke, but given these cabinet appointments, I'm 100% serious.
And here’s your WWE/WCW. You know what’s ironic about it is that I was watching the Vince McMahon documentary on Netflix last week. Vince mentioned how his good friend Trump likes to run his office like a WWE/WCW type event. (I think it’s on episode either 6 or 7.) After hearing that I’m not surprised by this.
I wonder if it will be Tito Ortiz?Gaetz just withdrew from consideration for AG. Thank God.
Nah--let's go with David Otunga. Harvard-educated lawyer who's also a professional wrestler, actor, and reality TV star. Seems right up Trump's alley.I wonder if it will be Tito Ortiz?
