I didn't think Meyers played bad though. He challenged shots, boxed out, hit his open jumpers....though he did through two bad interceptions.
 
Meyers looked better, but I think he'll suffer a bit because of how well Collins and Swanigan played. They both look so good that it really makes him look bad. I mean, he makes himself look bad, but they don't help his case.
 
I'm thinking Pat should cash in on his baseball career while he still can. Jake... maybe he could be a professional volleyball player or something. Meyers could go be a bodybuilder.
 
Not like it matters too much but the game was lost when we started running the offense through jake and connaughton while the actual PG was minimized.
 
Connaughton is not an NBA player. Jakes shot looks just as bad as last year. I don't think he has it mentally. I wouldn't miss either one.
 
Meh....let Phoenix have this win. It's not like they're winning more than 30 games this year.
 
I want to see Briscoe get a chance to actually run the offense on Thursday. He's a gamer let him fucking do his thing. He almost saved that disaster of a fourth quarter by himself.

Collins already looks much better than Leonard, especially defensively. Which is funny to say about a guy who should be a sophmore in college, but the game comes natually to him, whereas Meyers is still a bit awkward out there.

Nurk, Collins and Davis are looking like the top 3 big men right now. I think Swanigan, Meyers and Vonleh will battle for the other spot. Meyers will probably only play when Stotts decides he wants his PF to shoot 3s.
 
I know it's only the first preseason game, but Neil has to be thinking he can start to look at getting rid of a big or two after seeing his draft picks play with that kind of hustle on both sides of the ball. These kids need playing time.

I don't remember seeing him come into the game, but someone said he played briefly and was taken out after making a bad defensive play. I can't find a freakin' box score of this game on the internet.
 
Harkless played a lot better than Turner. He deserves to get more minutes.
 
Jake’s contract is guaranteed isn’t it? Connaughton just has to go. I liked our rooks though. We’re gonna be good.

I'm sure he is trying. Davis and Vonleh are in the final years of their contract, and the Blazers won't likely offer much to retain them given what Nurk is going to do to our payroll.

He didn't play..they might have been thinking of Archie Goodwin, cause I thought he was Morrow at first.

Swanigan shoots 3s as a PF; so... Meyers will play when Stotts wants to piss off the fans:oops:

My mom and I went to the game; they stopped tracking it on the hustle board etc after the first or sometime in the second quarter.
 
The cavs need bigs. Let's send them one for Shumpert
 
Meyers looked competent as a backup C.

When Collins is around on D the ball just doesn't find the net. Collins + Nurkic is going to be so formidable on defense very soon.

Swanigan is so solid, Hustle, physical and can knock down a shot.

If Jake could get his shots to fall he'd be damn good, without them falling... next.

Pat looks bad.

Everyone else looks as expected.
 
Ok. I take back all of my recent love for Pat. I always go full on Mags during the off-season, hoping to will greatness into existence. Once the first preseason game is played I snap back to reality. Oh, there went gravity. Pat needs to go back home to mom's spaghetti.

Jake is a fluid athlete and can handle the ball. But he can't shoot worth a beer shit.

Meyers wasn't terrible. He looked alright.

The rookies looked good. Collins next to Nurkic is going to look really good for a long time to come.

Give Briscoe the 15th spot. He has the fire to make it in this league.
