Trade Idea Realistic trade options for summer of 2023

Marang said it's highly likely we trade 23 for a veteran. So I'm just going to throw out some names and maybe one of them hits:

Fits into GP2 TPE:

Kenrich Williams
Kenyon Martin Jr.
JaeSean Tate
Cody Martin
Chris Duarte
Precious Achiuwa
Dean Wade

Requires salary:

Pat Connaughton
Nic Batum
Daniel Gafford
Brandon Clarke
Gary Harris

TBH, I don't know if any of these names make sense and I hate trading 23 for any of them, but if I hit on one of these at least I can look back and say I predicted it.

Blazers draft Scoot
Trade Ant Nurk #23 for Paul George
Sign Draymond for MLE
Sign Meyers Leonard for vet min
Sign Dillon Brooks for BAE

Dame Scoot Mays
Sharpe Brooks
George Thybulle
Grant Warford
Green Leonard Eubanks

Lowe is saying if Kawhi and George demand 4 year max extensions in July, the Clippers are going to negotiate.

If that goes wrong, maybe one or the other becomes available.

IDK if we could move for either though.

Look at the contracts.

Who is even available for just Ant or Ant/Nurk that would fix any of this teams problems? I can't find any.

Maybe Ant for a sign and traded Kuzma? Would be hilarious if Washington runs out Poole/Ant.
Nas for Kyle Anderson might be nice. Or Gallinari (if he's healthy).
I still like Ant for John Collins too - but Atlanta would want a PF replacement.

I think the ship has sailed, but Vando would be a nice target.

Oof. If those are the options, I'm keeping Ant.

I wonder if this framework works for the Hawks. This gets them just under the luxury tax and I know they want to get under the tax. Ant needs to be routed somewhere else...

to Orlando for Gary Harris and Bol Bol? Harris to Atlanta; Bol to Portland

Orlando just drafted two guards. Big guards, but guards no less. I don't see the appetite for Ant when they now have:

Fultz/Anthony/Suggs/Howard/Black all needing minutes at the 1/2. Maybe Atlanta takes a flier on Cole?

I feel like FanSpo must be broken if it's saying this deal would be legal for the Blazers. I don't see how they're close enough to match salary.

That said...if it is legal, is there any way something like this could be adjusted to make sense for all sides? Like, I don't really see either Chicago or Philly having any interest in Nurk, but there wouldn't be any way to pick up both Derozan and Ayton without him. But I could definitely see Dame being very happy with this roster.

Portland is sending out a little over 47M in salary...which should allow them to absorb 59M. Looks like they are getting back a million or so above that, although there can be some float differentials in multi-team trades. But all the Blazers would have to do is add Keon or Knox then it's kosher

if the Vulcans would sign off on that, it would be good. It would also be VERY good to leverage Portland's picks back from the Bulls. Blazers might have to bite the bullet, roll the dice, and take the risk of un-protecting next year's pick...or only top-4 protecting it

but you're right...the Bulls wouldn't do it

Phoenix needs bodies. If the Harris talks fall apart, and with Morey on one end they probably will, the Suns might go for Nurkic + Little + Keon/Knox; and Chicago might go for Ant + lifting protection on 2024 first for DeRozan

I can dig it.

Dame (26) / Scoot (22)
Sharpe (32) / Dame (6) /Scoot (10)
Derozan (30) / Thybulle (18)
Grant (30) / Watford (18)
Ayton (30) / C (18)

Dame: 32
Scoot: 32
Sharpe: 32
DDr: 30
Grant: 30
Ayton: 30
Thybulle: 18
Watford: 18
MLE center: 18

Something like that works.

I think it only works because fanspo is removing our cap holds on Jerami and Matisse. So this move would kind of shoot us in the foot.

I like the premise - Portland gets the most draft picks possible - takes on both Ayton+Simmons who if they regain value can be flipped for a pick later. If not Simmons expires next season and Ayton the year after. That will be just in time for the Blazers to use cap space before starting the Sharpe/Scoot/etc rookie contract extensions.

Phoenix doesn't need Claxton, let them have Nurk instead and Brooklyn gives us an extra pick.

Nets get Dame and CameronPayne
Suns get Nurkic Simons Little
Portland gets Simmons Ayton PattyMills plus 5 draft picks and those two rookies they just drafted. Also gains ~$10 million of cap space as a trade exception.

It's gonnan be Karl Anthony Towns for Ant and Nurk.
I'd be shocked if the Wolves took Nurk... I mean they are prone to making terrible decisions but Ant and Nas would actually be enough to match contracts and I think both of them have positive trade value whereas I'm not so sure about Nurk.

maybe if its three team trade

one can see why it would be terrible for minnesota to have both gobert & nurk, nurk would become toxic, assuming gobert would be a starter

Is this realistic at all? Maybe put Simons instead of Nurkic?

Not to mention, Dame doesn't want to go to Boston...

Many players dont want to go there. I think KG was reluctant at first as well.

I just don't see ANY other young'ish-solid health-1st\2nd star caliber player we can get for him. Miami\Brooklyn draft picks can be so much worse.

Remember their GM is the guy who technically drafted him
