C+ I'm not really into it all that much, the voice is in one tone almost the whole time. It just bored me and makes me want to go to sleep listening to it. Sorry for thrashing one of your favorite songs, but I'm not really into it all that much.

Static-X - "Love Dump"

Invalid Video Link

I saw these guy live on Wednesday and they are awesome live. I know they're pretty heavy metal, but I like the electric guitar they play. They call their music evil disco, just thought you would want to know that

Man, that was hard to listen to at parts. I really can't stand Static X. They're just loud and boisterous for the sake of being loud and boisterous - their songs don't really have any melody to them. Metal's really gone down hill over the years, and it's a shame. Bands like Metallica and Pantera are very listenable, but Static X is garbage.

(Don't flame me on that - it's just my taste.)

I liked that one a lot. I'll definitely check out more of their stuff, I'll probably pick up the CD. However, like I told you, the frontman is kind of queer, but still on point with the vocals.

A Perfect Circle - Imagine

Imagine - B

I love the original song, but that cover was far too dark for my liking. The lyrics and the original song are so light and uplifting. The juxtaposition here just didn't work well for me.

But yeah, as far as Satellite Party frontman Perry Farrell (also of Jane's Addiction fame), here's his wife -

I know this has been posted by Mamba before, but I like this version -

Love the song, I feel wrong rating it. Funky, love the bass as does everybody. If I was a stripper, this would definitely be my song.

Here is the song I told you I'd put up for you, VC.

**** YOUR GOD! That's the song that introduced me to APC, Tool, and everything Maynard does. It's great, and I absolutely love it. Keeping up with the APC recommendations...

APC - Gravity

A+

I'm really getting into APC lately. I've always liked Tool, and my friends have been pushing me to get into APC, but for whatever reason (probably laziness), I never downloaded any of their stuff. But those last two songs in this thread were so good I had to hit up Limewire right after I listened to them.

I love that video for Gravity too. Is that the official video? If not, it should be. The desert's such a beautiful place, especially the Grand Canyon. It's my favorite part of America geographically. I wish more bands would put their music to that sort of imagery instead of spending millions of dollars on makeup and trendy dancers.

New Song:

Goldfrapp - Strict Machine

B Wasn't bad, wasn't my kind of music though. Nice voice. The video is pretty trippy.

JET - Cold Hard Bitch
Invalid Video Link
One of my fav songs to play in the summer.

A+ I love that song, I actually was about to post some Jet too. Jet sounds alot like classic rock that got so popular, but their new CD wasn't so hot.

Earshot - "Wait"

This was on Madden a few years ago, so you guys might recognize it from there.

C
They sound like they're crying out for attention, sorry not feeling it. Nothing personal.

The Ataris - The Boys of Summer
Invalid Video Link
Another great summer song, at least for me...and Sasha.

B+

This song's really not that great technically, and it's very generic and stereotypical teenie bopper music. But yano what? I like it. I guess it's a guilty pleasure song, because I don't really like anything else from the band, but the song's lyrics make you reminisce about old summers.

That was interesting...I don't know how to rate it. I didn't find it good, didn't find it annoying or bad either...therefore it's a C.

FUCKIN' RIGHT! I blast that every chance I get.

Awesome, I love Take Away Shows. BTW, have you seen the official video to that song? So craaaaaaazy.

Ridiculously cool video... gotta love that version of it though...

Especially in Michigan - A+

I'm a huge RHCP fan, so I'll pretty much give anything they do at least an A, but this song is one of my favorites off the new album. The only thing I don't like is the lyrics, "lions and tigers,...etc." it just doesn't fit with any of the other lyrics. On the other hand, I love the lyric, "I find it when I'm slipping in, oh in Michigan."

I love that song, just a good chill back (stoned) and relax song. Plus it makes me think of Austin Powers.

Brand New - Sowing Season

I can't really get into some Smashing Pumkin songs, but this song is really nice to listen to.

Faith no More - Evidence
Invalid Video Link

A+

Anything done by Faith No More is worth an A+ in my opinion. They're one of the most underrated bands of all-time, especially the band they eventually spawned in Mr. Bungle. Both are tremendously overrated (and this is coming from a guy who's an RHCP fan, two bands which hate eachother).

New Song:

Lily Allen - Smile

Beautiful voice, loved the little accent. She was pretty cute, too.

Satellite Party ft. Jim Morrison - Woman in the Window

A band recommended to me by VC.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting "Me from earlier in this thread":</div><div class="quote_post">This new song's from the band Satellite Party who's debut album just hit stores a few days ago. I haven't picked it up, but I've really been meaning to because of all the great artists who contributed on it. Here's the only song I've heard from it so far, featuring never before released vocals from Jim Morrison. It wasn't much to work with, but I think they did an okay job of incorporating this into a song. It's still just exciting to hear Jim's voice on something new.</div>

As embarrassing as this is to admit, I haven't listened to much of the Beatles. I did like this song. I liked how they slowed it down and then picked it up again for the chorus, and there was lots of colors.

Bryan Adams - Summer of '69

I'm really digging summer music right now.

Bryan Adams.

j/k - Catchy song, regardless of who it is and what it is. I guess it deserves at least a C.

Easily one of the most calm and serene songs I've heard in a long time. I haven't listened to the Doors in a while, I'm going to pull them out tomorrow.

Damien Rice - Coconut Skins

Loving the mellow music right now. I've got my windows open and am listening to the crickets as I'm playing this music... just beautiful.

Classic song. It's relaxing and thought provoking. Nice to see a span without some Chili's, eh?

Marvin Gaye - Got to Give it Up
Invalid Video Link
Gotta love this song, I think? Everytime this comes on at work I dance.

C

This might not make much sense, but I'm coming off a pretty intense trip, and Marvin Gaye wasn't really what I needed now. It's a great song, and he's a great singer, but at the moment I cut this song off pretty much half-way through, because I'm not in the mood, and you really have to be in the mood for a song like that.

New Song:

John Frusciante - Falling

As in all of Frusc's music, you could really feel the emotion. The instrumental was beautiful and the egg...tattooing? was pretty cool.

Damien Rice - Amie

A+

I love this song. It's one of the few Damien Rice songs I've got on my playlist, because whenever I put it on, it just makes me feel better. I love music that does that to me, because life can really get to you sometimes, and it's good to be able to be brought back to reality and being happy by a song.

Great song and I love how he voiced his opinion at the end. Isn't this the song that inspired Readymade on Stadium Arcadium?
