If indeed there is a law to that effect (I'm willing to believe that somewhere there is, especially as in Indiana they've got a pending bill that assigns personhood to a fertilized ovum, but I'm also willing to believe you're pulling it out of your butt.) It's entirely possible that the law got passed as a way to indicate the seriousness of the offense, but if it was challenged it would be found unconstitutional.

The Oregon Experiment — Effects of Medicaid on Clinical Outcomes

RESULTS
We found no significant effect of Medicaid coverage on the prevalence or diagnosis of hypertension or high cholesterol levels or on the use of medication for these conditions. Medicaid coverage significantly increased the probability of a diagnosis of diabetes and the use of diabetes medication, but we observed no significant effect on average glycated hemoglobin levels or on the percentage of participants with levels of 6.5% or higher. Medicaid coverage decreased the probability of a positive screening for depression (−9.15 percentage points; 95% confidence interval, −16.70 to −1.60; P=0.02), increased the use of many preventive services, and nearly eliminated catastrophic out-of-pocket medical expenditures.

CONCLUSIONS
This randomized, controlled study showed that Medicaid coverage generated no significant improvements in measured physical health outcomes in the first 2 years, but it did increase use of health care services, raise rates of diabetes detection and management, lower rates of depression, and reduce financial strain.

The VA pharmacy will begin price matching drugs with Walmart and a few other big pharmacies. The VA has for years fixed the price of prescriptions for 90 days at $24 dollars. Pretty darn good
for some of the real expensive stuff, but not worth a damn for the run of the mill stuff many need. I take three different prescription, each cost $10 bucks at Walmart. Yeah! Now the VA
can mail this stuff to me and I need not run the 50 miles to BiMart (price matches Walmart) to get the stuff.

The scuttle butt is, Trumps newly appointed Director for the VA has long wanted to change this. Bang! It's going down.

Not to you, but to a lot of folks it has been a life saver whether it fits with your GNP guidelines or not....20 million people have access that didn't...some with preexisting conditions....Trump said he will leave several of the pieces of the healthcare law intact...if he doesn't....there will be a lot of angry americans bumped off their treatments....not a great way to make America great again...until they have something better, which they don't yet.....they should change some of it. Obama said if Trump can tweak it and make it better, he'll lobby for it......that's a man of character

you must really get around Marz......you know millions that lost healthcare? wow....ok...if they did, they probably had options compared to the folks that couldn't afford it originally but hey....my wife and I had to shop in the marketplace and she now has completed her dental work that was put off for years...thanks Obama! I had insurance before I retired from the state but actually paid more for my wife and son's addition to my healthcare than I pay for all of us now under Oregon Fair Health plan.....so you can say you know a guy who really didn't lose under the system

Oh, I wouldn't say I get around. But I do know of several companies where the retirees lost there healthcare. Just the few companies I know of means millions of people, most of them can not buy insurance like they were provided. Then there are other where they lost it at work.

But getting back to the point, you always hear how many gained access! Did you ever hear the final net difference?

Those that got fuck with losing is a different subject that I would rather not try to discuss on here because it piss me off no end that it's ok to fuck some for the benefit of those you want to help. That should get you war!

I lost mine when I retired from the state....what's so unusual about that? They lost their jobs....means benefits too...they all could apply for healthcare though just like I did. If they have no income, it's basically free....I have to pay a bit but as I said....not as much as I did through my old insurance....what you should address is not Obamacare Marz.....it's tort reform and insurance pilfering enormous profits from pharms that cost nothing to manufacture...those 10 dollar pills probably cost a fraction of your cost to make them. Same with Dental care.....my wife's partial plate costs more than my truck....where they factor in the expenses is criminal

You realize that $10,000 a year in premiums with a $10,000 deductible does very few people any good. They're paying out of pocket for doctors and meds.

Write checks to the very few and we save money and get the same result.

$300/mo in meds at full price is 1/3 the total premium. $6400 covers dozens of doctor visits and lab bills.
