That was funny as all hell. And, as others have mentioned, it's not like what's-his-name can possibly shoot any better. So, might as well fuck with his head and put a little pressure on him. Put the rookie in the spotlight and see how he handles it. He came out of nowhere with zero expectations to be the hero in Game 3. Now, all of a sudden, he's getting interviewed multiple times, his coach teammates and the fans are counting on him, the Blazers' coaching staff has no doubt been watching film and looking for ways to take away his open looks, etc. It will be interesting to see how he responds tonight, with the pressure of facing elimination, in front of the hometown crowd.

I went back and looked at all of his 3pta from sunday, and half of them were blown coverage, defender sagging off.

I have a great feeling about tonight. We are gonna see a 70+ combined point effort again from LA and Lillard and most importantly a big fat dubya and the first playoff advancement since I was like 5 years old.

Hakeem was a great player, but doesn't make a lot of sense as a motivation coach. He is saying the Rockets shouldwin easy because they have no pressure on them:

This is the Rockets’ chance not just to win a game, but to dominate, to take control of every play, every possession at both ends of the court and take over the series,” Olajuwon said. “If you think about it, this should be the most free, the most easy game the Rockets have played in the playoffs. Play that way and everything changes.”

“Like I told him,” said Olajuwon, “3-1 is just going out and having fun.”

And then he says that if the Rockets win:

“Portland is feeling good about themselves right now,” Olajuwon said. “They have won three times and they have a chance to close it all out in Game 5. But they better, because if you think about it, this next game is their best chance. If they lose this game, if you punish them, dominate them, you plant that doubt.”


So even though this is the best chance for the Blazers, the Rockets are going to win easy because the should play with no pressure. And when they win, they then plant doubt in Ptd''s mind.

Way I see it, if anyone is going to play loose ans easy it will be the Blazers and if anyone is feeling doubt it is the Rockets. But really these teams are so evenly matched, throw out everything Hakeem is saying, because it makes no sense, and get ready for another intense basketball game where both teams will have a chance to win and lose the game.

I heard Kenny Smith talk about this, and the big difference is that when Houston came back from the 3-1 deficit, they had actually dominated the series and had only lost because they had gotten complacent. They felt that if they really turned it on they could win. Houston hasn't been dominating us. This has been a really good series in every single game. No team has really dominate the series and yet the Blazers are 3-1.

From my view, Houston is expanding so much energy to try and build the leads that they usually have gotten that it leaves little in the tank late in the 4th and if OT happens than OT. If you recall it was Daniels who scorched us to give them the win, if they had stuck with Garcia I think we would have won, since no one for them is making the big shots late really. This is the opposite of us we just want to keep it relatively close and then use all that energy and effort into the 4th to grab the win and so far we have done that 3 times. I would almost be scared if we were the ones to have the lead for most of the game as opposed to being down.

Ironically, if anyone has been clutch in this series, it's been the Blazers.

I think Portland has actually been outplaying Houston....the close games are due to the reffing.

We've outplayed them in the 4th quarter of every game, that's for sure. We are +15 total in 4th quarters this series. Not huge, but we've been on the + side each 4th quarter. The problem is we have started behind in most of them.

I agree.

Contrary to Hakeem's fantasy, the only way the Rockettes can possibly dominate the Blazers is if the refs make it so. The Blazers have shown they are the better team.

Anything can happen, so buckle your seatbelt.
