Guys, I'm scared. That wasn't just a fluke 3pt barrage or an odd off night from us. That was a methodical dismantling of every one of our strengths. This team has been blown out maybe 5 times in the last 89 games-- highly discouraging that it was so thorough and steadfast in JUST the first game of the series. Unless we can change our entire defensive philosophy and get the players to actually buy into it in a few days, this series is over.

And for gods sake, stop going down by double digits in the first quarter. We did that shit against Houston as well, but their D sucks and we can get back easily. Not possible vs SA.

I'm not worried. Teams get blown out and exposed like this all the time and adjust. It is a well-coached system and team with stars, but we executed really poorly and were intimidated from the start. That ends now, we'll feel more comfortable for Game 2.

Not on D tbh. LA was a no factor until the game was out of hand.

The entire Blazer team wasn't a factor until the game was out of hand

Splitter didn't do anything special that Aldridge hasn't seen before. I'm really not even giving it a second thought tbh.

Aight, we'll give it another game or two. It is a small sample size.

In garbage time. He'll average a double-double due to Splitter being an average rebounder for a big, but other than that I don't see him shooting 50%< in this series.

Whatever, dude. You clearly didn't see LA demolishing both Asik and Howard in the previous series. I hope you fools keep on single covering LA with Splitter. He was getting around him with ease in the second half.

I'd like to see you here gloating after a loss.

Aldridge will adjust to the D the rest of the series. Just getting those nervous ticks and expectations out the way.

Until Splitter does something that I've never seen before, I have no reason to think Aldridge won't continue to put up stats

Aldridge was getting the normal shots he always gets. Nothing special happened.

The Blazers as a team just weren't ready for this game

I'm guessing tlong's trolling has impacted how that board views Blazer fans. tlong is an afterthought on this board, and has many more posts on your board than he has here. Some people are just born to troll other boards, I guess. I've never understood it.

This is true

I feel like I've reciprocated the Tlong trolling and since he also apologized, good game guys:pimp:

Well, the first half of the first quarter he was clearly struggling bigtime. I think that set the pace for the rest of the game. Won't happen again hopefully.

Well, considering he has never shot over 50% in a series, or in the regular season, that isn't saying much, tbh.

Next from the great people of San Antonio. Water is wet.

Objectively speaking, I don't see how you guys can win a game against us. Contrary to what Tlong and many others think...bench production is VITAL. We also play real D unlike Houston, so nothing but jumpshooting will get exposed. It'll be a fun series, we deff. need the prep for the finals so hopefully you guys can give us some bang for our buck.

I think that goes back to the whole team not being prepared to play this game. The wing players were having trouble just getting the ball to Aldridge.

The Blazers were a mess tonight. Game 2 will say a lot about the rest of the series imo. Game 1 is a game you forget.

Even in the late part of the game they still were. Don't know what it is, maybe they were too excited from the Houston win and got too confident and unfocused.

Its not even talking trash. You are just making blind guesses in to the wind and taking obvious strengths of your team and presenting them as they are revolutionary ideas no one has ever heard of.

Take it as a slight or whatever you want..... Lets be real here.... Your team is young.... Spurs have seen it all and I have been through it all. I am quite excited about the Blazers potential but lets face the facts... They are YEARS away from being close to the Spurs and chances are your front office is going to screw it up. Im seriously not trolling. Your front office will jump the gun instead of letting things play out and shit will get screwed.

The secret to success in San Antonio is continuity and that's all there is to it really. It isn't Pop, it Isn't RC Bufford, it isn't some magic drafting money ball bullshit..... It is culture and instilling a base model and sticking with it..... that's all.

Portland has the base model with LMA and Lillard to start this type of program, but will your front office follow it?

What's the story on the whole Tlong thing anyway?

Why does he post on a spurs board now?

This same front office built the current Clippers, so I think they'll do fine. And we're here, matched up in the 2nd round in the playoffs. We're not as far away as you think. This is the first year this "core" team has been here, so this whole thing is a process with a logical buildup. My goal this year was to get to the 2nd round. Next year its to get to the WCF and the year after the NBA finals. We have the flexibility, personnel, team culture and players to make it happen, so I'm not really worried. I've been around those teams of the past as have many here, this team is different.

If we lose to the Spurs, its not the end of the world. Like I said, I'm glad we're playing them because its good to learn to see how a system that works functions and emulate it.

He's shot 56% career wise against the Spurs, so any game he shoots under 50% is great.

A couple other Blazer fans from ST have even admitted they view Splitter as the best LA defender in the league and I feel y'all will agree by the end of the series.

Lol

No

It is Pop.
And it's Duncan.
And it's Parker.

Mostly Pop, as he's the best coach and gets players to play for him unlike any other coach can. That's a huge advantage.

Once he's gone the Spurs are done. Better capitalize soon or you'll be left kicking yourself over game 6 and 7 vs the Heat last year

You're spot on. It is Pop, and a lot of the ungrateful fans will realize it when he's gone. The phyzik guy just likes to pretend that he knows about spurs basketball.

tbh, all this tbh is getting fucking old. tbh it is more annoying that how shitty the Blazers played tonight. Just trying tbh.
