So how long do we have to reward Roy for once being a good player? Will he still be demanding to start when he's 50? And will some fans still be defending him?
I don't know anyone who is insensitive to how Roy must be feeling. I know a whole lot of people who think he has not been playing good basketball, that he is a detriment to winning more often than not when he is on the floor, and that his comments now, as in the past two years, are selfish.
Roy is not now nor has he ever been a 'leader.' Much like $amon, Roy seemingly is incapable of putting the team first in his comments to the media. Roy was once a very talented, and selfish, basketball player. Now he is a physically limited, and selfish, basketball player.
I feel badly for Brandon the person, but not badly enough that I want him negatively impacting the performance of my favorite team. If his feelings are hurt, maybe he can soak a few thousand hundred dollar bills in liniment and pay someone to wrap him up in them. I think he's been rewarded, and "appre$iated" enough.
Does anyone really think Brandon Roy or 90% of professional athletes really give a shit about the fans? Really? But I'm supposed to cry for him because his coach chose to respond to his poor play by reducing his minutes in a critical playoff game? Not gonna happen.
