KBergCBS: The Blazers and Clips are discussing a deal that would send Jamal Crawford to L.A. for Eric Bledsoe and Ryan Gomes, sources say. [via Twitter]

Jennings available

I don't know much about this kid, but I looked him up. 18.7 PPG, 40% FG (why do PGs shoot so fucking poorly?), 33% from three, 5.6 APG, 1.5 steals and 2.2 TO. Since I can only look "on paper", nothing about this kid jumps out at me.

Because most of the time a point guard is (or should be) "shooter of last resort." Often they aren't being set up or they are trying to score at the end of the clock. That's why guys like Paul and Nash are so remarkable for their shooting efficiency

lol I was talking out of my ass about Bledsoe. Would be hilarious if true.

Gomes has to be like, "Damn it! Stop trying to trade me to the Blazers!!!"

Yes, please on Bledsoe! Gomes.... is headed for Blakey territory. Picked up twice by Portland only to be let go.

Ahhh but what about years ago? I mean Stockton, Payton, Anderson, Stickland and so many more all shot extremely well.

Gomes makes 4 million next year. Not sure why we'd grab him, we likely won't play him.

As a rule though, most point guards shoot around 40% from the field ... if they're exceptional then they usually become all-stars or hall-of-famers like some of the guys on your list.

insurance? Basically we could get our starting PG of the future for only 1.6 mil per. That's pretty damn good. The other 4 mil is just to make the deal pass. Could we have future picks? Maybe?

I like Bledsoe as a prospect, but he's got a LONG way to go.

Not really. Bledsoe played SG at UK because they had Wall there with him. And he's in a similar situation now with Mo Williams and CP at PG. His court vision is actually decent.

I don't really have much hope for him being our definite PGotF, but he's better than the lot we have now.

Bledsoe is NOT A POINT GUARD. He's about Armon Johnson level.

What if we get this deal done, then get Nash? I know you aren't a Nash guy, but it would be a decent 1-2 punch. Bledsoe is still rookie scale and very manageable.

Why wouldn't we? He's a competent 3/4. Better than some of the alternatives we have on the bench.

So we have

Crawchuck to

LAC for Bledsoe and Gomes

Minny for something, maybe Ridnour, maybe Beasley, maybe Johnson and a pick

Char for Augustin

Seems they aren't big fans of Nolan Smith, and it seems to me that Portland needs to take whatever offer includes a pick

lol. You do realize Johnson was the #3 pick last year right? Minny is not gonna give him up AND a pick for a Crawful rental.

Don't LOL. They are not happy with his development, and are now in somewhat of a bidding war.

He was fourth, and he's absolutely terrible, and is already older than Batum. I honestly don't think they value him more than just a throw in.

He's terrible right now. His A/T ratio last year was 1.5, and he played a lot of significant minutes and games. His PER was 10.8. He was about as bad as Felton this year.

I like his potential, but he stinks right now.

Question. The saying goes that if a deal is talked about, that means it's dead. What if these are leaked to further value players, so a team would give us something better? It's pretty apparent that we are looking for a PG. Now maybe we can use Crawford, with more value to get one?

Bledsoe is a third string point guard. Fuck that shit

....

shouldn't we give Nolan a run of 10 games starting before we go after a guard like Bledsoe? the kid really hasn't had a chance, heck I'm for givin Ewill some PG minutes when I look at Bledsoe's numbers!

4th pick, and it was 2010, not 2011.
