Seems like an abnormal amount of injuries for pre season

Dame has his "foot injury"l but luckily that is all we have seen. It seems like there are a lot of injuries happening this pre season. Neal, felton, Durant, Caldwell-Pope...

I wonder if it's bad luck or if some of these teams arent doing good preventative medicine. Either way, I just want this preseason to be over and for there to be no more devastating injuries for any team.

Coach stotts should continue to limit the starters.

Here is a link to injuries. At this point really the Lakers and the Heat have the most but there is only two long term injuries (Paul George and Durant) and almost all are just "Questionable" for start of the season. That seems pretty good to me. Of course we are only just a 1/3 of the way through pre-season.

He's been saying he would play if it was a regular season game, but then said he wouldn't go out there tonight if he wasn't 100%

Injuries: For Portland, point guard Damian Lillard (sprained left foot) is doubtful. The Clippers report no injuries.

Are you implying that there is a connection between a lack of rest due to USA commitments and these injuries?

It would make sense, but you have to think that PG doesn't factor into that equation. However, Durant, Irving, And Beal certainly do. Certainly we're seeing the end of big name players competing in FIBA. it will be interesting, FIBA experience definitely helps the team prepare for the Olympics.

I blame the 82 game schedule and not only things like FIBA or Olympic games but playoff teams get almost no rest if they get to the semi finals. Shoutout to the Blazer training and medical staff! They've done a commendable job so far

The FIBA and Olympic games definelty don't help. I say we go back to sending college kids to those events (would make things more interesting that's for sure).

injuries are going to happen no matter what you do.
it's part of the game....
Most of the players on the list kjironman provided didn't even play in FIBA this year. Injuries happen...Can't prevent them... they just happen.

One could even argue that practicing for the USA teams helps prevent injuries because instead of pick up games or at home.
They're around a training and medical staff. As well as each other who while they compete against top level competition the players can control the fouls.

History has also shown that players who come into training camp not in "basketball shape" have an increased chance of injury in the preseason. So, yes, there are usually more injuries in the preseason. Add overuse injuries via international basketball to the mix and voila, more injuries.
