Heard from one of my sources that Neil pushed an old woman down a flight of stairs at Moda center trying to sign Chandler Parsons.

This exactly! Im happy to see him fired but jeez some people here act like hes literally has done not one positive in his time here.

it’s what he hasn’t done. Like trade CJ. Draft pretty bad overall. Overpay his bad draft picks.

Isolated incidents can happen yes. Probably has happened to anyone, but if you raise your voice to a lot of people on consistent basis then yes you are a bully.
I am mainly talking about this Dickau part. There is a good chance what Dickau did behind Neil's back did piss him off, and he fired back at Dickau in a anger tone. That's normal, I didn't see one person mention that Dickau might actually had every right to get chewed out by Neil. And also it was reply to some saying, that the Dickau story was brutal and yada yada. It wasn't that bad at all.

NeO story: Sellwood Starbucks one early weekday morning. Said hey Neil, looks up from his BlackBerry (years ago), think its really cool you brought in Maccabi Haifa for a game. Gives a half smile like why the F are you talking to me. I'm out.
Got the same treatment but prob worse from Pritchard at Subway in Tualatin. I had my three boys with me, I said hi & the boys said Rip City and he didnt respond at all just looked us off.
Where is Marshall Glickman?

To the people defending Olshey.....why?

I mean, I'd be a bit more sympathetic if he had targeted and drafted Giannis, or Adebayo, or Mitchell, or trade for PG at some point.

But there is like....no results from his tenure here. I agree being an asshole is not necessarily damning, but what is keeping you guys attached to him?

Who is defending Olshey keeping his job? I haven't seen one post of that.

Neil has never built a balanced starting unit as good as the one he basically inherited.

Dame
Wes
Nic
LMA
Rolo

That lineup had good defense. Good outside shooting. Length. Rebounding. Grit. This was the team that Stotts was hired to coach. In fairness, Wes has never been the same player since his injury, and LMA bailed, but Neil has done an absolutely horrible job getting back to this balance.

His absurd marriage to CJ and his inability to acquire a second star has prevented this team from taking the next step.

Good post, excellent points.

I'm fine with the Blazers keeping CJ, an NBA team needs 6-7+ guys playing big minutes, CJ is certainly an NBA above average starter, and could fit on a contender. But he can't do it alone with Dame.

Not acquiring another above average starter is a major problem with Neil's decade of management here. Dame needs help and had shit starters, especially forwards. Dame is now on the wrong side of 30 and declining, we wasted many years with starters being Aminu, Harkless, Turner, Meyers, Whiteside; and terrible trades with Afflalo, Barton, Vonleh. Lost luxury tax flexiblity with Crabbe, Nicholson, Ezeli, Varajao contracts. Whiffed on free agents that all basically sucked anyways; Spencer Hawes, Roy Hibbert, Greg Monroe, Kanter on a max deal, Parsons.

I would have said “what the fuck is your problem?”

How about this. Dame demanded help over the summer.

Now he's pissed. He knows the situation and has given the team a mandate to get rid of Olshey.

Dame is firing Olshey.

If Dame wanted him gone, they would've just canned his ass. The team is worth 2+ billion, they can afford to pay off the remaining bit of his contract IF it pisses off the best player to ever play for the team (esp if he wants to stay).

Went to highschool with Dan. He's an entitled asshole.

Olshey and McCollum to Philly for Morey and Simmons.
