Shams: Olshey being investigated for workplace misconduct

The TWolves fired that guy for having sex with another consenting adult. Olshey is a dick to his co-workers, and it seems that's OK. The older I get, the less I understand people.

The NBA obviously doesn't support consensual sexual acts.

Unlikely anything happens Thanksgiving week.

Who’s going to search for the new GM? Who even makes those decisions within the organization? Bert Kolde?

ya wtf is that about? used to be people only were off on thursday/friday, but literally everyone is off this whole week. i shoulda taken some vacay time too.

Ok, but the point is for the past 6-7 seasons there has been dead money on the Blazers Salary. It will be there for two more seasons
This is a much smaller deal than you and others keep making this out to be. I am not saying it doesn't suck, but if we paid CJ $5 mil less/year, then THAT would be something!

Without reading through this thread, is McGowan still with Vulcan?

I can't find anything on McGowan resigning from his position as CEO of the Seahawks which would mean that he will still be with Vulcan. Now as far as the Blazers are concerned and therefore as far as I'm concerned McGowan's official last day will be Friday. That means on Saturday, Dewayne Hankins will be Blazers CEO.

It seems like Monday would be a perfect time for Hankins, in his first official act as CEO, to announce the results of the investigation and either a search for a new GM or that the Blazers will continue with business as usual. If Olshey is staying then I would expect findings of the investigation to be discussed, so the team and Vulcan can exonerate Neil or admonish him and promise better behavior moving forward. If Olshey is fired I don't expect much detail, except that either "due to the findings of the investigation Olshey was fired with cause" or if the findings weren't sufficient for cause but the whole experience was uncomfortable enough to let Neil go that the team will announce that "Neil and the team are going their separate ways."

Olshey might survive this for the remainder of the season but I believe he will be fire after that though.

Unless Olshey is Jody's golden child for the foreseeable future, this would be the time that Vulcan would move on him, if it's for cause or not. If the investigation shows enough to get him out of here without paying him then that's obvious but even if it doesn't the team can fire him and say that they have philosophical differences and are looking forward to building with a new GM that the new CEO can pick. If they aren't totally in love with Olshey, they'll fire him now. If we don't see him fired now and we continue to make the playoffs, Olshey will be here for at least several more seasons.

I would expect Neil to agree to resign with a negotiated buy out of his contact.

Many people don't take their vacation time throughout the year, and then have to cram it all into the final two months let they lose it completely. I'm one of those.

I sometimes wish I had a job that I earned vacation time/benefits.
