Oh shit.

Will it land on the fan?

This is gonna be the longest 22 hours of speculation this forum has seen. Everything form blockbuster trade to complete front office overhaul.

Lets get the speculations going now!

I think it will be them stating they are about done with moves until they can assess their assets just acquired. It will be blown up but be all hollowed out with nothing new for us.

<facepalm>
Why facepalm? He is 100% right. I Love Dame he is my favourite Player, but i feel sorry for him to waste his Prime on a mediocre Basketball Team with a horrible Front Office without a plan. If you really want the best for Lillard, you trade him right to LeBron and give him a Chance to compete, we can't give him that Chance. Thats the reality

I think the reality is that yes, everyone loves Damian, but its the Blazers who we want to win. You trade Dame, that becomes less likely for two reasons.
We no longer have him. The Lakers will have started their next dynasty.

That is the reality.

If they are willing to wave the white towel at this point (First Team All NBA player who embraces the city, 3rd seed in the West, youngest team in the league, great fan base that rallies behind the team of non-troubled players), then there is no hope for the organization. Blowing it up at this point and time is fucking stupid.

What's the motivation? Because we overpaid for Evan Turner and Meyers Leonard, we are "stuck"? They haven't even tried to do shit. Olshey is sitting on his fucking hand with his thumb up his ass.

No he isn't. It's foolish to believe him.

But you are the one who said Germany needs to rebuild when they literally have an all star team. :dunno:

LeBron came into the league in 2003, 15 years ago. He's still pretty good. But when he was great, in his prime, he didn't win jack until he teamed up with the SupaFriends. Through his first 6 years, he and Dame had the same number of rings. CP3 has been traded a couple of times in his prime, and never got any of his teams anywhere.

I stand by the premise that you keep your "4th-most-valuable-player-in-the-League" guy as the cornerstone of your building, not the thing you pawn to get 75c on the dollar so that you can go buy some lotto tickets that, if you're supremely lucky, are as good as the thing you have already.

Not totally true...they gave away players for negative-free so that they could be below the tax and offer Seth Curry half of the MLE so their bottom line would be stronger. Or something. Seems to me that a few rounds' worth of playoff games' gate receipts would be a better recoupment, but...

Great analogy!!!

You know, when shit like this comes out, you'd think our esteemed local media would try to get the scoop from the team/Dame/his agency/league sources/etc, etc.

No one cares.

What a waste of the access they have.

Joe Freeman is useless, Quick is in his own little world, Casey can't do shit, and the rest of the media are even more pointless. Chris Haynes kept getting played left and right by agents when he was here, but at least he built relationships with players and tried to get ahead of stories. Even if he was a shit writer and a relative novice, he cared-- and that's why he's national now.

For the sake of argument, let's say that the Lakers realize that they're not getting Dame from Portland, but inquire about CJ. What would it take from the Lakers side for a CJ-to-LA deal to make sense from Portland's perspective?

It starts with Ingrahm+. Then if we have to take on Deng's contract, they have to add in Kuzma and Draft picks. When they decline Kuzma, settle for Ball (who I think would work quite well with Dame) but require another pick.

I'm guessing for Stauskas, The Curry and Trent if he hasn't been introduced by then.

A number of trade options are being considered by Lakers executives Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka

That dickhead writes this like the only thing keeping Lillard from being a Laker is Magic deciding whether or not they want him. It goes to show just how badly the deck is stacked against small markets. I'm sure Stern is proud of Silver for keeping the ball rolling.
Yo @ Cheese deuce-deuce, love the avatar man!

Yeah, that's right. I said it. And in the bellicose environment whereby which the Portland Trail Blazers and their aforementioned, superduperstar guard Damian Lillard -- unequivocably frustrated with the palaveric rendition of end-of-bench musical chairs orchestrated by their verbose and soliloquent former daytime television thespian General Manager-- Damian Lillard, he of the quarternary position in the league's Most. Valuable. Player. voting, that Damian Lillard who is probably wanted for manslaughter in multiple states for the veritable daggers he stabs into the thoracic cavities of his victims on the court, deserves to be appreciated and adulated by a franchise, by a fanbase, by an executive suite in Earvin Magic Johnson and Jeanie Buss, who will utilize his multiplicative talents in a manner justifiably in keeping with his status as a League Great.

Nice suedo @jlprk

For the record, I am not a "Dame hater" or something....but the situation with Kawhi is a reminder of how fast the relationship between player and team can go south.

Sure but do we have any indication that Dame would be like that?

Rhetorical question.
